Where is all the stock?

By blademaster81, in Star Wars: Armada

You would think by now that FFG would have a handle on demand issues, they've dealt with it enough over the years. It's probably one of their most recurring weaknesses.

So I am a new player to Armada and found the availability a little disheartening but after reading this I see I am not alone and there should be new ships soon which is awesome! Still wouldnt mind getting a Starhawk or some imperial ship that is normally $20 but on ebay they want $70-200 lol... is an ISD really worth $200 or an Arquittens worth $150.. shoot some people want $50+ for a raider... I am very confused on whats happening.

Welcome!

Restocks come around every so often, but due to the irregular nature of stock being available you do get gouging. Look for actual stone-and-mortar game stores in your area that may have Armada, they will provide much better prices. I really hope you are able to find what you want. And if you do find a store that doesn't have materials ask if they can order them for you. (Again depending on what is or is not available)

I would say don't buy from the E-Bay scalpers. Don't encourage that type of gouging Bullcrap with your hard-earned money. Keep a close on the FFG Store, and local businesses and eventually (think in terms of months) you'll be able to get what you want.

I was able to purchase everything FFG has released for Armada (some 2+ copies) in the past 6 months. Only 2 ships that were difficult was the Arqs and the Raider. Got 2 Arqs from a Canadian store at FFG price (just had to pay shipping). Got 2 raiders from someone online for just 10$ overpriced (the only ship i paid over FFG price for).

I couldn't get pics to load on here because of size restrictions. But just wanted to leave this here for everyone complaining. It is not that bad and IMO FFG does fairly well at restocking.

I mean, believe me, I'm happy that you did find all that, but you're wrong.

Their restocking can take an absurd amount of time. Which in turn has lead to many tabletop gamers avoiding FFG despite having an IP they want to play (just did a podcast last week where 4 or 5 guys from the local store admitted they wanted to play but didn't want to get burned by FFG again). Just recently for us the essential Fighter 1 packs were sold out for almost an entire year. Any time restock polices lead to a scalper market (Where items are sold as high as 10x MSRP) it's not great. FFG is notoriously bad at restocks. Not just with Armada either. Go talk to the Legion folks about finding Phase 2 clones and B2 battle droids. Or talk some of the X-wing guys about the K-Wing and Y-wing shortages during 1.0 where $15 minis were selling at $40-$80 a pop (Heck, the Alpha fighter is currently selling at $45-$120). Not to flex, I admin a buy/sell/trade group for FFG Star Wars games on facebook with some 14,000 members. I see this LITERALLY every day. FFG restocks are bad.

The size of the Armada catalog is miniscule... a handful of products. Plastic, painted, paper, cardboard. That's it. Such simple products.

I wish I could do a free shipping pre-order on currently out of print items. Maybe they could even use the information to, I don't know, produce enough product.
