Canon and Legends based lists?

By Pa Weasley, in X-Wing

My FLGS is opening it's play area up this week and my group has confirmed that we'll be able to start back up. To celebrate I decided I wanted to bring lists that were all about fun and trying something new. Inspired by a certain blogger's experiences in the Jank Tank Open my first stop was the electro-proton bomb. It's always tickled my fancy and the weapon was utilized by my current favorite faction to boot. I quickly started checking back into the battle of Malestare for fun and stumbled across the fact that Goji actually dropped the **** thing. Lo! The old florescent bulb in my noggin started to do that annoying buzzing and this list was eventually came together.

Mace Windu (45)
Heightened Perception (3)
Delta-7B (18)

"Goji" (32)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
Electro-Proton Bomb (12)

104th Battalion Pilot (42)

104th Battalion Pilot (42)
Total: 199

Kind of surprised with the result that set me off on a quest to make other quasi-canonical list. Next stop was revisiting a list that did well for me last season and introducing the almost never touched named Torrent pilots. I'd like to point out that it's made up of some of the only survivors of Ahsoka's disastrous flight. That and it's been ages since I've touched Delta-7b for heightened perception and now I've slapped into two different lists. I did watch the scene again to verify she was flying the 7b first though.

Ahsoka Tano (44)
Heightened Perception (3)
Delta-7B (17)

“Axe” (32)
Snap Shot (7)
Homing Missiles (5)
Synchronized Console (1)

“Kickback” (33)
Snap Shot (7)
Homing Missiles (5)
Synchronized Console (1)

“Swoop” (31)
Snap Shot (7)
Homing Missiles (5)
Synchronized Console (1)
Total: 199

Not a one of these is meta shattering but frankly they look fun to fly. And isn't the point of X-Wing to have fun and wallow in the joy that is the SW universe? I imagine there has to be all sorts of other canon or at least legends accurate list out there. I know Trench Run and Inferno Squad have been a part of 2.0 since its release but what are everyone else's lists in this vein? They don't have to be top tier, or even C tier for that matter, but hopefully they're at least fun. And just to prove I'm not completely Republic centric ...

Lando Calrissian (79)
Nien Nunb (5)
Millennium Falcon (3)

Wedge Antilles (55)
Predator (2)
Proton Torpedoes (13)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Jake Farrell (36)
Crack Shot (1)
Outmaneuver (6)
Total: 200

I have soooo much time for this list.

I've run something almost identical as an attempt at a 'theme' list that might be half decent, only difference is I had Crack Shot on Wedge instead of Predator. Given the action support he's getting from Jake and Lando, Predator becomes a bit superfluous. Crack Shot and ProTorps make him an alpha menace at any range. Anyone unlucky enough to end up range 1 bullseye of Wedge getting a lock from Lando had better hope they're 3 agility and rolling all paint, or else they're getting munched. And even then, only blocking one damage max from a fully modded 4 dice attack is painful.

The only thing I think keeping it back is that the Initiatives are all over the place, and Jake is downright hard to use as a support piece for these guys. He's moving first, but is also the fastest, so keeping him in a position where he lands and can reposition (preferably twice) to pass off a focus to someone at range 1 is tricky, and usually means he's not getting much in the way of shots himself. So there's a lot of reliance on Wedge to do damage, which is never great for a list because sadly my boy just crumples if more than one enemy so much as looks at him. Lando is just so predictable and easy to block too. I've had some great first, second and third rounds with Lando. And some truly awful fourth, fifth and sixth. He just doesn't have the ability to get around the board and put the heat on like Han.
