Destroyed by Salvo - do I get a second attack?

By Stefan, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Suppose I shoot you, and you kill me with Salvo - do I still get my second attack?

A ship is destr oyed when it has damage cards equaling or exceeding its hull value. A squadron is destr oyed when it is reduced to zero hull points. Additionally, a ship or squadron is destr oyed if a portion of its base is outside the play area.
...

When a ship is destr oyed, remove it from the play area and place it next to the matching ship card. Discard its damage cards to the discard pile and return its tokens and dials to the supply.
...
A “when” effect occurs at the moment that the specified event occurs and cannot occur again for that instance of the event. (RRG, p. 5)

I'd say that's a negative. The rules are pretty clear about what happens when a ship is destroyed.

Thanks!

The only attacks you can make after being destroyed are, Salvo and Counter attacks, and that is specifically because both of those rules contain the words " Even if you are Destroyed."

Without that Caveat, that's a Negative, Ghostrider.

Bertie has it correct, unless you have Rieekan and choose to keep that ship on the board, it is removed as soon as it is destoryed.
