I'd rather cut my hands off, the true Skywalker way, before playing and supporting this piece of sh... game 😂 .

What makes you say that? Battlefront II had a rocky start, but the developers didn't abandon it, and now it's turned into one of the most enjoyable Star Wars games in a while.

2nd this.

It's a bit bland, if anything, but definitely playable. I enjoy the starfighter battles quite a bit.

While this isn't wrong, it's only right because in 6 or so years of having the license EA has put out 3 games, and one is really just an alpha for the other.

While I do take my hat off to the game being supported for so long, let's not forget how bare bones this game was on launch and in many respects still is.

Yes they added a lot of free content, but that is only because the game barely had any to start with.

No don't get me wrong I have played this game a lot (over 100 hours since release) but that is only because we are starved for Star wars content. It's the cheerleader effect that makes this game resemble good.

This still makes me cry myself to sleep at night. The missed opportunities all because the mouse wanted Maximum dollars. Monopolies don't make for good products. No competition means no innovation. We had so many different Star Wars games in the past

**** shame where we sit now.

I heard that EA is making a game about Nute Gunray.

A rocky start is a pretty huge understatement. It wasn't the developers who didn't abandon it, it was Disney. They threatened EA to revoke their license. There was no goodwill by any company involved. They just threw out an unfinished game cashed in on everyone and cashed in even further with their scummy microtransaction. And if Disney hadn't had stepped in because they saw the reputation damage done to SW, EA would still run it that way.

It is in fact quite a decent game now. But I have 'tegrity and I won't forget what they did.

How Disney has completely devastated the reputation of SW with their trilogy of Episodes adds some weird taste to this story, innit?

That being said, your integrity is respectable, but I don't suppose playing this game now puts any stone to building EA's success (unless you make some in-game shopping). If anything, that's your best shot at showing them a middle finger - " There, I'm playing your stupid game, legally, and you don't get a dime from that! "

Completely devastated? Hardly.

I stand with nute too!

I don't play video games. Also, what do you mean only 3 games in 6 years? I had to wait from 1998 until LEGION for another Star Wars tabletop miniature wargame. Cry me a river (of dewback blood).

Disney has damaged Star Wars via the sequels. But less than Lucas damaged it via the prequels. Also, Lucas damaged Star Wars by making Luke & Leia siblings.

Ewoks aren't teddy bears and war clubs aren't walking sticks. Star Wars really peaked in 1984-1986 when we had the Ewoks cartoon, Droids, Caravan of Courage , The Great Heep and Battle for Endor all happening at once. Everything before and since just kinda detracts from that corpus of work. From 1984 to 1986 Star Wars content had fully matured but not yet started to decline, it really hit its stride and told its best stories in those years.

I think that covers everything.

Give in to your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me.
