Clone Wars Commander Predictions

Darth sidious, first cross faction commander. He would have a different ability depending on which faction he was playing for

If he has different abilities, wouldn't it make more sense for the Republic to have a Chancellor Palpatine Commander/Officer card, and the Separatists to have a Darth Sidious Commander/Officer card?

Maybe more sense, but not as cool 😁

General Skywalker: a.k.a. general "Suicidal Assault with Heroical Memes"

He could have multiple versions. A boarding team type that does a bit of sabotage somehow and an officer card.

When reveal discard blablabla choose one enemy hull section. It loses all the remaining shields. O M G! šŸ˜

No. All that dude did was get captured. Now that Darth Sidious character... now there was a guy that played the long game. I’d love to see him as a Separatist Commander.

In ASOIF there is a funny mechanic where you add attachments that doesn go to your unit. Instead they go to enemy units and works as debuffs or just grant extra victory points.

I think Palpatine could work like that. He might be an officer card that you place onto an enemy ship. If the enemy ship is destroyed it adds Palpatine cost to your score.

Palpatine I think should mess with objective cards in some way to represent the fact that he controlled both sides of the Clone Wars. Nearly every loss or victory of the Republic or CIS furthered his goals. Maybe he can have a secondary objective set in play?

That’s a good idea.

If there is some sort of new Jedi effect in the Republic faction perhaps the Chancellor version could weaken that & boost a different stat instead.

Commander Jar Jar - grave disquiet.

At the beginning of the ship phase you may change the top command dial on one of your opponent’s ships. If you do, your opponent may change the top command dial on one of your ships. 20 points.

Sow confusion on the battlefield.

Grammar and points.

Whulff yularin, not yet-grand moff tarkin, obi-wan, skywalker

grevious, kracken, dooku, trench

will be my bets for the first 4 for each faction, Seppies are the easiest one as they have so few options before just spamming different tactical droids

It’s only just dawned on me that Old Ben never got a card for the rebel faction. Wonder why...?

nor did Ashoka, the person behind the Rebels Fulcrum... which makes even less sense than not having Obi wan.

I think if General Kenobi was going to be a Republic Commander, we would have heard or seen something by now...

Those cards were not correct, the formatting just wasn't believable for FFG remember xD xD

There is an Ahsoka card .

A 20 point commander that can almost totally neuter an enemy carrier for the entire game with no range requirements? No thanks

EDIT: I’d be more willing to accept a commander that gives raid tokens to everybody. Like he starts with one of each, then on a given turn you can discard one and give a matching raid Token to every ship

I seem to remember it wasn’t implausible per se, just wrong and bad .

Just wait and see...

Because I don't think anyone was or is disputing that revealed Clone Wars Upgrade Cards look different than the traditional Armada Upgrade Cards that we're familiar with.

Therefore, either the description text is smaller on the traditional Mini-American size Upgrade Cards for Clone Wars, making them more difficult to read.

Or the Clone Wars Upgrade Cards have been increased in size to Standard size cards (like Armada Squadron Cards, or X-Wing 2nd Edition's Upgrade Cards), but the text size hasn't been increased, which would've benefited accessibility for people with poor eyesight.

Also, unjustifiably increasing the Upgrade Card size could just be a scheme by FFG (more likely Asmodee ) to compel Armada players to buy the Armada Upgrade Card Pack or "Conversion Kits" in the near future, and squeeze more $$ from our us.

None of those are positive changes.

Perhaps you could explain how and why either of those changes will benefit the Armada game and the Armada player community?

Regardless, feel free to keep baaing like sheep while making inane jokes about Darth Jar-Jar. šŸ™„

Those are really good points, @Church14 . I was just spitballing how a Jar Jar commander could work in a way to hurt both your opponent and you. Didn’t consider how that could absolutely shut down a carrier. Raid tokens could be a good idea, though.
