Can Jake use vectored thrusters to do a daredevil boost. I dont thin so, but just want to be sure.

Vectored Thrusters allows Jake to perform a red boost action. Since Daredevil only triggers when you perform a white boost action, you cannot use Daredevil in conjunction with Vectored Thrusters. It does still work on the standard boost action that all A-Wings have, however!

Can I ask about Turr Phennir then? Is his pilot ability considered a white boost? Could he use daredevil after attacking?

According to the rules reference, actions in text are white unless otherwise specified. That makes the boost from Turr's ability a white boost which fits the criteria from Daredevil. You could even do it while stressed, but that would give you another stress.

This very rule has been used to defend some questionable (?) interpretations of certain (poorly-written?) cards, like BB-8 (Transport Pod). As written, some argue, BB-8 can perform a white boost action with his ability, since the color of said boost is not specified (as it is for the barrel roll). Others argue that the descriptive term "red" covers both the barrel roll and boost actions... which is neither supported nor refuted in the rules.

And that is applicable in this specific case (Turr Phennir's ability + Daredevil) how exactly?

Progressively, as the previous questions asked about abilities that grant a Boost Action. BB-8 (pilot) is another ability that grants a Boost Action that could (or maybe not) be modified by Daredevil; depending on which interpretation you have applied.

Not seeing the how it relates to Turr + Daredevil other than to dredge up an old argument that FFG needs to address which could better be done by bringing that thread back...

BB-8 relates to Turr the same way Turr relates to A-wings.

Agreed that the debate about it belongs in its own thread . However, it's good to let new players know about controversial interpretations of a combo they might consider running or might face. If players are aware the debate has been hashed out and reached a stalemate they can settle it by agreement during pre-game setup instead of fighting about it on the critical win-or-loose turn during a game.
