Since the release the Assult Gunboat. I was wondering if FFG is going to release the other fighters from the Xwing and Tie fighter PC/MSDOS game series.
Also the Vwing would be nice. If it is not being developed.

T-Wings are cool, I’d be down
also not canon so probably never though
TIE Avenger.... I would love a TIE Avenger... Did the Clockshape fighter show up there? I like one of those... Slave II would be go. I remember that in X-Wing Alliance.
Unfortunately, I don't imagine we will be seeing more though... Too much new canon stuff to get to (not a complaint, I like them too). I am realllllly glad that they snuck the Starwing in, though.
I’m not sure we are going to get any of the old game fighters unless they get ready-canonized by Disney in new material. The tie defender is an example of this - it’s first appearance was Tie Fighter but later became canon.
I’m glad we got our gunboats, and I hope we see them in 2.0 reprint soon because of how impossible they are to find. But I wouldn’t hold out much hope for things like the tie avenger, T wing, or the other material that was never in the game in 1.0

Cloakshape was in X-Wing: Alliance, gloriously Scummy ship.
Also the Skipray, T-Wing, Starchaser, Planetary Fighter, Toscan Fighter and a whole host of others.
2bd edition may still have some surprises for us; a lot of these ships have appeared in other FFG games and some were "old" designs, so may be a good fit for the Prequel factions (once ships with screen time run out).
Yeah, it is a hard sell to the license holder to approve ships from a video game that came out a quarter century ago. The focus will be on currently marketed movies, tv shows, cartoons, video games, books and comics. FFG made some of the old stuff in the past, mostly because they ran out of the iconic ships from the movies, so it can't be ruled out completely. Still, I am not sure they get to a point where something like the skipray makes a showing.

This will be the main focus, but there will be holes every now and then that need to be filled in. Might as well pick up some fan favorites from one of the most-liked Star Wars video games of the past. There's probably still more popular or relatable ships to pick up before some of the more oddball ships from the X-Wing series, but there's some fairly well-known ones like the Skipray Blastboat or the Preybird or the T-Wing or the YT-2000. None of these are my first pick for a legends ship to be added (that goes to the Chiss Clawcraft) but they'd be fine additions. One potential issue is that most of what could be added from these games would likely go to Scum and there might be some crowded design space due to that.
Also, the entire Clone Wars/Separatists factions feel like they were not really capitalizing on what's current. Yeah, we had the bonus season but it doesn't focus on ships much. I guess it's close enough, though.
But really, I do expect to see something from The Mandalorian, even if it's only The Razorcrest.
After everyone lost their minds over the silver naboo ship, neither pretty nor popular ship, clearly there is a market for alt paint jobs. Any holes should be filled that way. There really are enough ships for the game. Maybe the thinner factions need more ships and I am sure those are coming but X Wing 1.0 had a lot of ships. At some point all these ships become redundant or in trying to make them special they are so under powered they aren't worth playing or so over powered they are over played. I'm a quality over quantity type of guy though I do get people like to just collect all the ships, which is why doing limited ed. alt paint jobs is such a good play for FFG.

...I'm not sure "limited edition" is a good ploy at all, profits wise.
The entire thing with "limited edition repaints" is that they're... er...limited. So if FFG produces - let's say a "limited edition" run of 1,000 N'dru Sulaks, they're only going to sell 1,000 N'dru Sulaks.
That's not going to make a dramatic positive difference to FFG's balance sheet. In fact, it's probably going to make less profit than for FFG that 1,000 extra regularly painted Z-95's would (economies of scale, y'all).
Alt paint jobs are great. Promo models for big social events are a fun idea. 1st edition's "Aces" sets were popular. And seeing 2nd edition ships like the Z-95 and the Scyk get new looks is great as well.
But the only people who will make money from "limited edition" repaints are the guys who end up selling them for inflated prices on the secondary market.
Well FFG is already doing the alt paint and sculps for other games and all the alt art cards that they do. The reason they can do this is because the economy of scale isn't all that bad. They don't have to retool or do special molds for ships. It's just the paint phase. The key though is if they make 1000 they will sell 1000 and probably a 1000 units they otherwise wouldn't have sold. Do that with enough ships and yeah, it really does help out the balance sheet. Companies that do limited ed. collectables can do very well for themselves. Check out a company called Side Show Collectables. Note - I take no responsibility for your maxed out credit cards if you visit that site.
As for the secondary market, well those go all over the place with collectables. Go see how well the prices on those destiny cards are doing. FFG isn't the best when it comes to keeping things in stock, so their products often end up on the secondary market for stupidly high prices due to product scarcity. So nothing new there. If you miss a paint job, you miss a paint job, big deal.

They were doing exactly this in the middle waves of 1st Edition, when the OT ships ran out. But Disney started to create a lot of new designs (like in Rebels) and FFG gradually stopped to bring ships of Legend status. I think that train has passed.
The only way the forgotten "classics", like the T-Wing, can appear in X-wing now is if they show up in Disney films or series.
