Birds of Prey (double Starhawk)

By TheRedScourge, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Been kicking around a list just seeing if anyone else has tried double Starhawk?

Will be trying this out next time I get a game in?(Vassal or real) Squadless and low activation so many flaws that I think the Starhawk can make up

I haven't tried the Starhawk yet, but I have two points.

Are you sure on Agate? I'd probably pick someone who benefits both ships, like Ackbar or Garm.

Also I haven't tried myself, but not very keen on the tractor beam array but maybe that's okay.

Agate really just because of being cheap and making a tough ship tougher. Gram might not be choice with the right officers.

Two magnites might be excessive but its a great vs small ships that fly passed or getting a comms net in range or in the way

One magnites the ship to speed 0, the other follows through on a defenseless ship. It works.

Only Concord really needs magnites though.

Hah, interesting. This must be devastating if pulled out successfully.

That’s why Lando is on Amity just encase it did go to speed 0. I can see removing or moving him to concord. I do feel most time it might waste with 2 but I have a few msu around I play often so some crowd control and not letting some escape

Walex and Derlin are also nice options to help the Starhawks stay alive longer. Unity and Expert shield techs are also another option. Raymus helps to have extra tokens or double up on commands on much needed rounds. One could also argue for Repair crews on the transport.

14 damage to an SSD, Brunson took it down to 12, but still it went through the 3 remaining shields and did 9 hull damage. I had first player too, so the next round she took another big shot.

But outside of SSDs I've found Magnites only useful for slowing down Raiders or Kittens (w/o ET) usually the ISD has Comms net support and the Gladiators run Engine Techs and the Onager just sits and laughs at the slow Starhwak.

I played a double list similar to this today. My thought is with 2 hawks is you need to fly them close together or one gets picked off then the other side just needs to try not to die.

I agree they do need to fly close enough to support each other. If first goes to zero for the second to take full advantage of it. My issue has been it’s slow and so telegraph so hard to get any big points out of any list
