Liberty Squadron is playing its first Tabletop Simulator Banhammer Tournament tomorrow, Saturday May 23rd, at 1100hr EST (-4 UTC) (lists on TTT and check-in on Discord are due at 1050)! I'm not part of Liberty Squadron, but I'd thought to announce this event here because anyone's invited to it and the format is very interesting. Essentially, it is extended, but the following high-performing cards are banned from the event, offering it's own curated roster to further open the meta:

I would protest, but I found a use for Kylo crew and am flying him for it. It's just FO force charge that shows the dark side once a game.

Whisper has deserved a ban since June 26th, 2014.

I assume the only reason Fel wasn't banned is because the organizers didn't want Imps to be the only faction with three banned pilots.

Yeah, this seems odd to me, too.

It's not just another Vader + Whisper + [insert 3rd], so maybe the objective of breaking up the meta is still accomplished, but Imp Aces can just become Soontir + Duchess + Redline. Though with that sneaky Proton Torpedo ban, Redline will need a funky choice of weapon (Diamond-Borons?). Or you could go Fat Soontir + Duchess + PalpShuttle?

If I recall additional ships/upgrades get added to or removed from the ban list every couple weeks roughly based on use across multiple 8 player pods. The first set of bans have no set return time, subsequent additions are more temporary. Something like that.

For the first round Soontir Tap Tap Palp and Soontir GI Rex/Duchess seem obvious, but there also a bunch of mostly untouched lists elsewhere.

My guess is it will highlight which factions have the deepest bench of backup players who would absolutely start on any other team.
