This is Legiooooooon!

By Chili-52, in Star Wars: Legion

Fellow Legionaries, for far too long we have languished in the shadow of the Imperial Assaulters. Since the inception of our most dearest game, 26 months ago, the Imperial assault forum has been lording over us their status in the FFG forums. But no longer! We are less than 500 posts from surpassing them in the annals of most popular forums. This is no the time to falter my brothers and sisters. No retreat, no surrender. That is Legion law. And by Legion law, we will stand and fight... and d̶i̶e̶ post. A new age has begun: an age of Legion! And all will know that unnumbered Legionaries g̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶i̶r̶ ̶l̶a̶s̶t̶ ̶b̶r̶e̶a̶t̶h̶ posted on the forums to defend it!

Lest we forget, some of us Legionaries, are also IA veterans 🤘 😉 🤘

+1 and not only veterans. IA is a good game to play.

Not to say a good game you can play solo.

And also a less frustrating game if only one player to play with as it is cooperative game.

So.... Long life to both of these fantastics games

Imperial Assault i s a far superior game in my opinion. I wish they would've invested half the resources (or any) that they put into Legion. The game would have been more popular if they had supported the skirmish side at all.

Judging by OPs language he visited a warhammer 40k forum before he wrote his post. 😁

+1

Also as a primarily x-wing player I have no fear of that beast being overtaken 😉

Hasbro license issue

One of the things that I loved about Imperial Assault but Legion doesn't really depict is INTERIOR BATTLE.

Okay, recently , Legion released the Imperial Bunker, which enables Legion battles inside of a building. So I guess that's something.

But what about simulating a ship boarding action, or infiltrating the Death Star, disabling the Tractor Beam, or rescuing Princess Leia from the Detention Level? Those could be fun scenarios/objectives in Legion.

Unfortunately, Legion isn't designed for interior environments.

Nope. It's mixed quotes from Greco-Roman tragedies and the final words of King Leonidas before the battle of Thermopylae. With star wars legion mixed in for good flavor.

There is some stupidly expensive terrain that can depict interiors.

Also, why we picking on a dead game here? So mean.

Which is weird, because the scale does seem like it would be perfect for some of these open hangars we've seen in the films.

That said it could be because of how Legion was designed. I know Legion even has issues with urban warfare. Too many buildings and LoS blocking terrain and the game basically becomes BF II's Heroes vs. Villains. It's safe to assume narrow halls and LoS blocking corners would have some of the same issues.

Yeah the games desire to be approachable meant it won't scale well into these areas of gaming

How so? I usually play on dense urban city boards and its a blast!

Sure, as do I, (and it's definitely fun) but it can become a tarpit.

I play droids, and in urban combat killing even a basic unit of B1s can take a whole round of firing because of the way LoS is blocked in tight spaces. What usually ends up happening is the corps units will get tied up shooting pot shots at each other trying to hold or capture objectives while Grievous crackheads his way over a building to stab their hero unit in the giblets and vice versa.

Tight spaces, sharp corners, and large LoS blocking terrain means it's harder to kill multi mini units like the basic corps units.

Painting IA got me ready for painting Legion.

We have made it...this post ties Legion with IA. Good work lads

And with this bump, we have surpassed that of most h̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶f̶o̶e̶s̶ disliked siblings.

Huzzah to our Legion, huzzah I say.

Now only 1.25 million more posts to catch up with the X-Wing forum. 😳 😲 🤯
