This week let's dive into the past. When did you start playing X-wing and what faction did you fly?

Back in my day there were two factions! The good guys and then the bad guys, 6 ships on each side. Suffice to say, it wasn't that hard to play both, though the first list I thought I was a genius for coming up with Jan and 2 a-wings. And I mostly gravitated to those because I had always thought that if I was a jedi, I would fly a customized a-wing with an astromech stapled modified to it fit in it. So basically, I liked rebels because of my mental fan-fictions starring me.

Couple months ago (coincidentally, just before the world went crazier). I fly it all. Haven’t yet fielded any Rebublic fleets, but I think I set the land speed record for acquiring every ship in the game (finished the collection today, with the Rebel Attack Shuttle!), and I plan to fly them all. My favorite ships so far (in no particular order): Darth Maul’s Scimitar, Kazuda in the Fireball, Major Vonreg, Major Vynder.

I started right after the release of Wave Six, First Edition. Round about April of 2015, I reckon. Which, of course, means that I started playing Scum and Villainy as my first faction. Heh.

I first picked up the game in early 2016 but didn't really start playing heavily until August 2016. At first I was primarily Rebels but then I fell in love with Scum! Even now I stick mostly to Scum with a little dabbling in everything that isn't Empire/FO.

1. About 2 months before the version shift was announced (so Dec 2017 iirc).

2. S&V. 2x Most Wanted and the Reb v. Imp core (much to the chagrin of the guy that got me into the game due to the damage deck) were my first purchases.

happy friday cuban boy! I first started playing at the game store in wave 3 in fall 2013... I remember showing up as an awkward teenager and immediately becoming buddies with another rebel player who was really enjoying the new B-Wing pilots.... my jam was just X-Wings and the Falcon though. I ended up meeting a lot of cool people that night, some have stopped playing X-Wing over the years due to various reasons but I've seen at least four of them at least once in the last year. I really would never have picked up this game if the community hadn't been so strong.

Hey Cuban Boy. I got in on Day 1 with X-wing. I purchased 1 Core and 1 each of the 4 expansions (TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced, X-Wing, and Y-Wing). I preferred the Empire, and now the First Order. ( A much beefier Empire faction IMO).

I also got into the game from its start, back in 2012. I was playing very sporadically back then and didn't get into our local community until 2014. I was mostly playing the Rebellion early on.

My first list was Midnight/Omega Leader, Scorch/Zeta Leader, and Krassis Trelix with Heavy Laser Cannon and Gunner (back when he was an Imperial). I think I got in around the time the Ghost was released.

Always happy to see your posts CB! I started x-wing just before wave 2 released for 1e. I don't even remember what my first lists were, but I will never forget the joy I had when the Tie Phantom came out, and the release of Scum as a faction. Droid army is where I mostly play now, although my favorite list doesn't have a single robot in it... Hmm...

Got in wave....9?-ish of 1e with the Rebel ARC-170 and Core set.

Picked up a Sequel Core and added that one T70 to my fledgling 4-ship rebellion.

Then a B-Wing.

I jammed all them into the same list whenever I could, even hosting "Epic" nights where everyone would fly 200+ 1e points and use most of their collections in 4+ player double-map games.

Then I went to a Regional down in Tulsa OK with some freshly-painted Auzituck gunships... And got my rear handed to me by Nym+Miranda, Ghost+Fenn with EzraMaul, and Triple Defender's.

It's not like I never faced Defenders or Ghosts or Kwings in my meta... I just never faced experienced tournament players using optimized lists to their full potential.

I almost quit that day...but instead called back home to my game store and asked them to save a K-wing under the counter for when I get back.

Flew Poe Miranda at my last 1e tournament and had a total blast.

Been enjoying Resistance, Rebels and Scum ever since 2e.

I started playing casually in 2013. I started tournament play in 2014. That's actually when I started this account because I realized that I had a lot to learn. I collected both but I primarily played empire in tournaments.

These days I have all of the factions but I mostly play FO, rebels, and scum.

I saw the trailer for the game before it ever came out, and then got the core set must have been the year it came out, and then my first expansions were a few years later when I was given the A-wing, TIE-advanced, and Millennium Falcon for birthday gifts.

Didn't ever go to a flgs until after Wave 8 though.

A long, long time ago. In fact, I sent a pick from 2014 over to one of my old running buddies earlier (the lucky sod had won an amazing Yoda print at a Wave 5 release tournament, and it's been sat in his shed for the last five years because hanging it up in the house is verboten).

And it was Rebels. I kept thinking I could make Garven and Dutch work.

I was wrong.

I joined in just as wave 9 of 1.0 was about to drop. I started out as scum, and quickly realized I also enjoyed Rebels (plus they overlapped 3 of my ships! What was I to do but buy both?)

I eventually scooped up everything because that was what was necessary to play 1.0. Though my primary lists for most of 1.0 were scum - various forms of attanni until they nerfed that down. Then I also played with double jumpmasters, Dengar and Nym, and my final form of a list that I took to the last 1.0 Adepticon was Kylo and the harpoon equipped Rho boats.

Now in 2.0, I still fly everything. It’s too much fun not to. Admittedly my least played are separatists and probably empire after that. I’ve been heavily into scum, republic, and recently been on an FO kick.

I started just before Scum launched. I used a stack of saved up B&N gift cards to get a core, Imperial Aces, Rebel Aces, Defender, and a few more ships. Once I completed my rebel and Imperial sets, I completed scum. Now I gave to collect all of them!

I started back in 2015-16 with Imperials, but only temporarily - Scum and Villainy was the plan going in, and Scum and Villainy has remained the core. I was playing Rebels in 1.0 as well, and still the occasional Imperial squad, but at the shift to 2.0, I went Scum + Resistance; now, I've added CIS.

I started back around 6 years ago for only like 2 months. Returning to the game now though, as Separatists. Already have a small group of all new players buying models to play with! 🙂

Started begining 2019, I fly Rebels, Empire and Scum.
