Hello,
I picked up a new B-Wing because I wanted the new spiny model, it had nothing to do with wanting to fly one. If the B-Wing was made prior to Yavin why does the new paint job look so dated?

They're not very nimble, and tend to get slapped around a lot in a dogfight.
Just imagine hitting a shiny new 4x4 with a baseball bat over and over again.
Rebels don't like hard-line paint, so they always scrape it up before a battle.
This made all the deck-hand mechanics and droids very, very upset.
Pilots in rebel flights would even compete before and after missions to see who's "scratch work" was the best.
Most mechanics learned to stop caring about paint and put their hard work into more urgent repairs.
Any new rebels that insisted on having new shiney paint on their ships where scoffed at and labeled "nesters" or "cradle-hoppers" or, more cruelly, "target practice".
