Guys, I have one of each of the Rebel and Imperial Specialists expansions. Any need to double on either one? Wondering if two medical droids or two officers is in the current scene. Should I buy a second box of either? I'm asking as someone new to Legion. Thank you!
Rebel and Imperial Specialists Question
When they first came out I got two of each, and have never needed both. I'd say stick with just the one for now.
I got 4 of each, other than using the R4's to keep an At-St alive, I've never really used more than two at a time.
Two is good. Comm specialist, med droid and astromech droid can all be useful in 2x .
Official is more difficult to be used twice in the same list.
But of course I don't follow the usual lists.
One is fine for most lists.
I only ever use 2 medics for a palpatine list or maybe 2 officers for a snowtrooper vader list. Other than that I only ever use one of either.
Comms specialist is generally a one off in a shoretrooper squad for HQ uplink

1 rebel expansion is fine. I would consider a second imperial expansion. They have more use for the supports since their tanks and troopers are more expensive. So seeing two droids in an imperial army isn't as unusual as seeing two of them in a rebel army.
Also it should be no problem to use the droids for both factions, even on tournament level (though not having the correct upgrade card might be an issue but unless it is worlds also this can probably be sorted out)
One rebel specialists expension is enough I think. If you really want to use to astromech droids, better to get r2-d2 box for some extra coins

I’ve seen Shoretrooper/Deathtrooper lines using more than one, since the value on restoring those wounds is a good ROI.
Thanks guys for all the responses!! One last question. Based on what you know of Vital Assets, I am assuming one is enough? Or would you need multiple of those for the cards?

Only one is neccessary per player pair

The only reason to get two copies for two players is if you each wanted to have copies of the battle cards in your battle decks.
Okay I promise last question. You guys are incredibly helpful. I promise this is my last question. Rebel Pathfinders. Other than running one squad with Jyn Erso, I'm assuming there is no need to buy more than one? Thoughts? Thanks guys!
No, not really. Technically if you want to go full Rogue One and take both Bistan and Pao you'd need two units. But since Pathfinders are very expensive and aren't really on the powerful side of the spectrum, you'd probably soon get tired of it and go back to taking max. one unit.
Hmm, I've got 3 Pathfinders boxes i think. But that's more because i like their sculpts better than any of the other troopers. I've converted several of them so some of them i use as Veterans, snipers etc.

Only if you want to be able to run all three special forces slots with them.
There’s certainly an argument to be made that it would be better to have 4 units (Jyn + 3 Pathfinders) forward deployed, rather than only 1-2.
Again, when they first came out I picked up two boxes. However I have only ever used one squad at a time. But with Cassian and K2 coming (hopefully) soon I might try running two squads. I would say pick up a box and see how they work for you, then think about adding a second unit later.

You'll need 2 Pathfinder units if you want to equip both Bistan and Pao.
The only other reason is if you want to max out Infiltrate units. That ability can be useful for securing objectives early.
It would be cool, if they released a "unknown heroes" kit for each faction with upgrades for all these units we're getting that have named characters. I guess they thought that through with the Clan Wren and Arch troopers because they have both named heroes and generic weapon upgrades. I'd love a generic heavy weapon upgrade for the pathfinders (maybe Pao is the closest we'll get)
