So how has everyone's experience been with Klaw heroic 3? Do you think the developer's just challenged it randomly or did they beat it before putting this one out there? The longest I have lasted is turn 3 with Iron Man justice solo. Have to say I don't think it is possible to win but I am not giving up.
Devs Heroic Challenge
I think Michael Boggs said that he hadn’t seen or heard of anyone beating it yet. He said that they picked Heroic 3 because they thought that Heroic 2 would be too easy.
Not sure how many have sat down to accomplish this. Maybe with Dr. Strange and the Hulk cards there's a chance to get there. The problem is the consistency that is generated from so many cards been drawn turn to turn. You need to let both doomsday chairs sit in play and have a solution for M.O.D.O.K. Whether that be using powerful once off events to clear him or be able to deal with the additional 2 damage/threat a turn. One breakthrough has been the value espionage can have in Heroic mode where surge is more often going to occur along side a very cheap way to get resource advantage. In turn the hope here is that espionage helps give you a tempo equaliser so you can catch up on building a board state fast enough to handle the threat and damage output from Klaw.
Dr. Strange has ways to offer stun/confuse and toughness which therefore gives him a slight advantage in regards to reducing incoming damage, draw through the encounter deck and eventual threat management. Having a hero with protection seems vital alongside justice for the threat control. I'd be curious to see what headway people have made. I personally feel it's still out of reach with the card pool we have currently but maybe there are some new interactions people have found to help advance us towards success on this challenge!
We have tried and failed with Heroic 2 Klaw, but I belive the keys to beating him are:
• Many many more modular sets than only Modok (the challenge never said you only had to use Modok). This way you won't reach the end of the encounter deck as fast.
• 1 or more justice players, because Klaw is the best schemer we have at the moment.
• Black Widow / Dr. strange or some of the newest heroes. Or perhaps one of the older ones if newer cards to the aspects/basics enhance their playstyle.
• Rotations. Not all players ending their phase in alter-ego mode, and not all players ending as heroes, but you end as a mix before the villain phase.
Played this morning lost on turn 2 again. Tried just expert mode and lost that too. 🤣 😭. Got Captain America out on expert and made it to stage 3 Klaw and threated out. So like some are saying the Heroes matter. Might try two-handed Cap and Iron Man heroic 3.
Edited by ScottGilbert25Another loss with Cap. Sound manipulation!

Still haven’t tried it out yet.
Lost a ton last night. Last attempt with Cap I got Klaw 2 down to 9 hp and then Immortal Klaw came back out. Then gang up and I was defeated. Tried Captain Marvel aggression and she seemed better than Cap. Will try again today with her.

I could see a race to the finish Aggression deck working. Only thwart enough to remove Immortal Klaw, the rest is pumped into direct damage, next to no board building intended.
There is a good argument to be made for running two-handed. I sort of assumed the encounter cards’ exponential growth would be worse than any benefit, but it does make it considerably easier to remove the starting minion and Immortal Klaw before the first villain phase. Honestly I think there’s a decent chance that this is winnable once we get Hulk, whether through use of the Hero or simply the Aggression cards in his pack.

Thor or She-Hulk is what I’ll try with first, just because they have so much opportunity here.
Didn't have to play two handed because my son joined the challenge. Captain Marvel aggression with Cap justice. Captain Marvel was defeated round 2 so my son resigned right after. The problem with getting rid of The Immortal Klaw is that since you cycle thru the deck so fast it just comes back. Happened in the game with Cap when I got Klaw 2 down to 9 hp. Today I will be playing solo but my son is excited to play again with She Hulk aggression and I am going back to my favorite Iron Man justice. I heard people talking about running him with protection. Is that better?

Hm I suppose the +1 Threat on Immortal Klaw is much more of an issue in solo. I know I've seen people saying you've basically got to ignore both Doomsday Chairs and Modok if you can help it.
Running Protection with Iron Man is basically just to make use of the only non-signature Tech card that's out so far (and another was spoiled via official channels for Hulk's pack). I would 100% stick to Justice with him for probably any Heroic challenge, let alone H3 😅
I've seen one person saying that they have to run Justice/Leadership together to stand a chance at this challenge, but I think it depends on which characters you're playing as. And honestly I'm tempted to try the challenge 4-player at some point, because there are only so many minions and side schemes that can pop out, and having more players can only help on that front 😛

But then, he would literally only have his Klaw's vengeance, sonic boom, and sound manipulation(that's not counting side schemes, because you're already leaving the minions). You would be attacked every round, and get an acceleration every round. That's why that I think the only way to beat this challenge, is to wait for Hulk, to be Hulk aggression and Thor aggression, to just bash the villain the whole game.
Double aggression is to risky. Unless playing with 4 players. I lost on turn one with Thor aggression. Lol don't ask. Went back to Iron Man tonight and got 2 losses. Surprise surprise! I have been thinking about Hulk too. Maybe She Hulk can fill the void for now. So tommorow She Hulk and Iron Man!
Last night I tried Iron Man justice solo again. I think I lasted until turn 3 when Klaw yet again was able to scheme his way to victory. Iron Man alone takes to long to get going. Not giving up just yet.

Solo Iron Man you probably want to flip to Hero after one villain phase in AE, even if you've only got a couple pieces of the suit up. 3 cards for one turn sucks, but it can be necessary to play with the threat.
Target Acquired might be good here. I wonder if Doctor Strange, Black Widow, Iron Man as a three team combo could work!
Switched to Black Panther justice with better results. Then tried two handed with She Hulk and had a better time. Trying to play everyday but getting tired of losing. This is a really mean joke Devs!
Guess what! I lost!
Tried twice with Captain America justice tonight. Lost both matches turn 2. Felt the first game i was doing pretty good but man can it turn around fast!
Been working on Klaw Heroic 1 for now. See if I can work my way up to 3. If I ever get Green Goblin I might have to put Klaw away forever!
