Setup: Chewee loses one charge, the fireball get the damage card, Chewee loads one charge and he's ready to mod vennie's eye.

Probably tractor beam on Nodin is a better choice than fcs on Vennie.

I like to hear about the fireball config, is this the right way to play it?

I have been having a play and I find Vennie really fun to use but very costly and limits options.

I played around with a cheap Vennie but with her ability it feels like you can go two routes with her, supper heavy Vennie which is 100 points plus or super cheap double tap ship veteran gunner, C3P0 or perceptive co pilot and pattern analyser for 69 or 71 points.

which may not be too bad but you lose all the other toys like bombs and rey. This may be a good route to try for a bit. As I still think large based ships especially ones that can't K turn should not be bulked out with so many upgrades.

be intrested to try it out and see how it goes.

however I do have my eye on just a generic bomb throwing star fortress with no Vennie as with out C3P0 or perceptive co pilot I feel Vennie may not be worth the extra points. the star fortress in the list below is just for board control and hard counter against swarms. the List may not be great but hey when is throwing bombs all over the place not fun.

@gennataos I played loaded Vennie with Joph and Lu'lo this week. I screwed up Joph so hit first engage with no tokens after a brain fart, but with one turn of focus evade plus heroic on defence, I was able to survive a couple of range 1 shots.

I'd forgotten what a monster Lu'lo is against lower initiative ships. There is a need to fly him very carefully in the first engage so he doesn't get stressed, and he rides his luck on occasions where he is taking return fire without a token, but get him into end game moving last and he just tears it up. So much more powerful that Zizi for closing out games.

On lighter Vennies - I've seen Stealth Device/Rey Vennie and 3 A-Wings win a store champs, so there is definitely space for lighter weight Vennie builds. I think double tap without percop/c3-po and also a way to modify blanks(M9/Rey) is silly but running him without anything is maybe a solid choice ... you can still live for a long time with the focus add ability, and if they aren't targeting you, you can consistently do 1.5 hits at i2 after the tokens have been spent.
