Updated reference sheet

By Morffe, in Tide of Iron

hi

with all the expansions set, me and my friends are playing with 3 reference sheets. This is all confusing, and I wondered if there is any updated reference sheet containing all the vehicles that have come out so far, is available.

What I am looking for is one handy reference sheet containing all the neccessary information about vechiles and squads. Or do I have to make one myself?

Good gaming

We are hoping that Fury of the Bear expansion gives us one complete reference sheet. So wait and see. If not then I guess you will have to make your own. I may even do this since I'm handy with Photoshop. If I do I will post the file on BGG.

The Experimental Unit Stats and Experimental Terrain Stats sheets in the section for fan-created scenarios - http://app.fantasyflightgames.com/tideofiron_scenarios.html - also contain all ToI stats so far.

That would be awsome!

It would be great if FFG would produce a reference sheet that includes all the units from the base game and all the expansions to date. I'm hoping that the new upcoming expansion will do just that. That is, have a reference sheet with all the units from the base game and all previous expansions.

I know there are some user made ref sheets out there, but the last one I have seen had only included units from the base game and Days of the Fox, no Normandy, but I'm sure there is one out there by now. I've even played with the idea of making a real simple one for myself and gaming group with very little graphics, but I'm going to wait and see what the Bear brings to the table gui%C3%B1o.gif

I'm actually working on a series of cards for the different units that are not only official but also for additional figures I have that I would like to get into action. If they turn out well, maybe I'll post them.

Cards are more handy than a reference sheet in this case in my opinion. I can pull the cards I need instead of having to locate the unit in specific on a sheet. Again, because I plan to add to the units, a sheet is also not feasible.

I'm also working in some optional rules like the ammunition option for the M10 as discussed in that thread.

I just threw all of my reference sheets in page protectors (cut out some of the doubled up British stuff), linked them together with loose leaf binder rings, and they are all together now, one set for each player.

I did the same thing with the rules and scenarios. I put them all in plastic page protectors, lashed them together with loose leaf binder rings, and wha-la, everything is all together. One stop shopping.

It kinda scares me, because the way I have it, the rule book kinda reminds me of the way ASL did their rulebook with the binder and all. I hope ToI never comes close to that volume of rules! I don't have any of my stuff in actual binders either, I just have them all hooked together with binder rings, less bulk that way, gets the job done.

Reference sheets: all in one place. Two actually, one for each player.

Scenarios: All in one place.

Rules: All in one place.

Throw in the little Plano containers, and I have all of the pieces organized the same way. All the mapboards, one box (the original ToI box), and I mean all the boards. The base game, DotF, Normandy and map expansion I. All the overlays together in that box too, along with all the German Army. The lid barely fits on it anymore!

The DotF box has the British Army, in Plano of course, rules, scenarios and reference sheets. The lid barely fits on that one too.

Normandy box has the US Army in Plano, all the cards, the scenario book Vol. 1 & game use markers. The lid just fits.

All three boxes travel together and aren't too heavy...yet. Set up is way quicker with everything organized, instead of digging around looking for certain overlays and map panels in all three boxes, then doing the same thing with the cards, pieces and everything else.

If you're willing to carry all that stuff over to a friends place you may as well buy two laptops and bring these to the table instead gran_risa.gif

By using my PC module for TOI I have been able to do just that and setup time is a snap. It kind of feels like the old days playing Battleship sitting opposite from each other. Try out my Zuntzu module. I recently just posted 2.0 with many more scenarios.

Using PC in a boardgame just feels so totaly wrong, atleast for me :)

I don't know about totally wrong, but I agree, playing a boardgame or miniatures game on computer only when you can play the actual game in person seems a bit off to me too.

Well once you try my Zuntzu module you will notice it is very easy to manage the token cluster you normally have to deal with in TOI. Plus LOS is easy to determine too. Basically there is no token cluster at all in my module. No fatigue tokens for one thing. You just flip the squad over to reveal the fatigue side. Like you would see in games like Conflict of Heroes. Soon I'm going to make a Youtube video to demenstrate my module and show it in action and how fast play can go.
