May release?

I was wondering... has there been an official explanation why Legion players in Europe have received the new Legion expansions?

Because what I've read is that the new Legion expansions arrived in Europe first, FFG instructed those retailers to hold them until stock arrived in NA, but they didn't and started selling them.

And now it seems that, in NA, retailers are sporadically receiving Legion stock and selling them ahead of the June 5th release date.

Any word at all from FFG/Asmodee about this?

And what does this mean for future release dates?

This is pretty par for the course my friend... Especially since CW dropped the cluster of all clusters. I've never seen a company attempt to be the little boy and the dam to such an extent as this.

It is true that the new expansions arrived in Europe a few weeks ago. It is not true that retailers started to sell them before they were allowed. They showed up as "new releases" on the european Asmodee website a week before they were sold in stores. If you want to blame someone you should blame Asmodee.

I got my pre-shipment email today as expected for my pre-order direct from FFG. So, looks like June 5 is the date.

I hope so. I've started buying Warhammer minis just to have something to paint XD.

Finally got my shipping notice from my direct pre-order for Vital assets. Scheduled to arrive on Jun 9. No shipping notice for Cassian or Iden.

Drop date is Friday

The Friday June 5th release date was accurate, thankfully.

I received the fulfillment notifications for my AAT, Vital Assets, Iden Versio, and Cassian Andor pre-orders from my LGS on Friday morning and picked them up in the afternoon.

The delays were unfortunate but understandable because of the pandemic. Now it seems that FFG/Asmodee has resolved the supply chain and logistical problems and are making their release dates again.

Good joke

I don't know that they solved anything, they just had 2 months to catch up. If they were smart they would keep a lag time between when they state things are to be released and when they actually are released so they can be "on time"

Otherwise they will constantly be at the mercy of the factory/shipping/docks/customs/whatever the excuse

What's the difference? 🤨

When any company sets a release date for a product, they have to factor in the time required for design and development, manufacturing, international shipping, customs, and regional distribution. If they anticipate complications and delays along the way and set a realistic release date, and their products are delivered to stores on the exact release date, then they've achieved that release date.

Just because the supply chain and logistics aren't as fast and efficient as they possibly could be doesn't mean FFG/Asmodee failed. Under the circumstances, that's not a realistic or rational expectation. We all know why the Legion expansions were delayed for 2 months: The Chinese factories where they're produced were shut down because of the pandemic. So FFG had to revise the release dates accordingly, and achieved the June 5th release date.

That's not to say there isn't room for improvement, because it appears that Legion players not in NA or Europe haven't received their Legion expansions yet. Hopefully they'll receive their pre-orders soon.

My store owner said he expects that the distribution issues will resolve now that they are ending their agreement with Alliance.

" As Asmodee USA transitions to a full-service distributor for all channels, retailers can expect an expanded Sales team capable of supporting retailers with best-in-class service.

Asmodee USA recognizes the benefit of choice and that many retailers work with multiple distribution partners. Once sales are open to all channels on July 1, 2020, ACD Distribution will act as Asmodee USA's new distribution partner. Retailers will be able to order games and supplies from ACD. Asmodee USA's industry-leading trade programs, including the Best Sellers Program, AsmoPlay, AsmoDemo, and more, will only be available directly through Asmodee USA.

"Selling directly to all channels is an exciting new step for Asmodee USA. We've been building towards this goal, implementing systems and teams that will help us achieve the high standards we hold ourselves to when it comes to servicing our retailers," said Andre Kieren, Asmodee USA's Head of United States Distribution. "Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic Sales team will be ready to service our customers as we strive to offer them best games, trade programs, and services. We are also thrilled to have ACD with us as part of this step. ACD has years of distribution experience and dedication to customer service that will offer retailers an additional option when purchasing our games."

My local game store has said that with the switch, Asmondee has not set up the mechanics to order any legion stuff yet. They were able to get some of the new stuff in, but has no idea when they'll get vital assets or any restock of existing units.

My Local store told me that with the switch. They had to in a sense re-setup the FFG line. After that, they got all the new products in for the 6/5 street date . (NJ)

Honest question have they hit a single CW release?

Dooku was early I believe

They were both early. I believe they were initially planned for maybe December, but we got them in early November. But other than that I think everything has been late by at least a couple weeks.

That's right they were early. And pretty sure it was at least 1 month for everything with most things being 2+

so are we all assuming arcs are in August?

Honestly I'm keeping my fingers crossed for September at this rate. I just got my AAT, like, last week...

I hope this game doesn't die. The delays were already pretty bad pre-covid.

I just want the old expansions to be restocked.... I would get them elsewhere, but I have a pretty large gift card amount to an online retailer after selling some old minis to them. Hopefully things restock soon so I can stock checking every day, multiple times a day...ugh.

Same here, I want you to be wrong about September but I don't think you will be. Covid has done nothing to help ffgs already significant supply chain issues.

It wont. Star Wars sells. It's not like there's an abundance of unsold units. They sell what they can get to the shelf, it's just a matter of getting their distribution in order.

Padme article is up and says july release. I'm still skeptical but someone at ffg is optimistic that they'll make their release date so we'll see.
