Fenn's Tactical Movement

By Mack008, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

If Fenn uses Tactical Movement on himself, does using the 2 movement points require an action?

Example 1: Fenn uses TM and gains 2 MPs, which are added to his base of 4, for a total of 6. To use the 2 extra MP, he has to spend an action Moving, but can travel 6 instead of 4 spaces. So over the course of his turn, he can move 6 spaces for one action, then shoot / move 4 spaces / interact for his second action.

Or...

Example 2: Fenn uses TM and gains 2 MPs, he immediately moves 2 spaces. He then still has two actions remaining this round.

Any help would be appreciated, especially if there's an official answer hiding out there somewhere.

Reading is fundamental...

The official rules say "Spending movement points is not an action and may be done at any time during the figure’s activation." So that would mean the second example is correct. Fenn can use the 2 MPs, then use two actions. Right?

Close. He can spend the two MP at any point during his activation. If he gives the MP to another figure that figure would need to spend immediately as it would be outside their activation.

Gaining: Fenn can gain 2mp from Tactical Movement at the start of his activation. Because it's considered during his activation, they go into his movement point pool. Fenn could suffer strain up to twice per his activation to gain 1 movement point each that go into his movement point pool. Fenn could perform the Move action to perform a move to gain movement points according to his Speed. Even with both of his actions.

Spending: Fenn can spend one or more of the movement points from the pool to move his figure, before, between, or after his actions. A mission rule could allow to spend movement points for other benefits than moving.

Thanks for the clarification.
