Rebellion in the rim question

By Tirion, in Star Wars: Armada

Been gone off this forum for a while been hanging out down in legion.

Picked up the new campaign, and am I correct in thinking that the different colored territories with the Roman numerals have absolutely no impact on the game?

They do in the strategic sense.

Fleets can gain penalties for operating (ie, playing games) in Sectors where they do not have a Base present.

Ergo, controlling the "Border" systems is important - and important enough to be disallowed at Game start.

Thank you I missed that!

I must have missed the bit disallowing them - where is it?

6. Place Bases: Each player takes the appropriate base stickers for their faction—each Imperial player takes one Imperial Base sticker, and each Rebel player takes one Rebel Base sticker. Then players take turns placing their stickers at locations on the map and recording their locations on their Team Rosters. No more than one sticker can be placed on each location, and players cannot place stickers on border locations or locations in sub-areas.

Also you get penalties if you fight in a sector where your opponent controls both border territories.

No base in sector = Low Fuel

Both borders controlled by opponent = Low Supplies
