I personally wonder if they will ever give CIS any commander that is under 100 points. With STAPs and strike teams coming out I feel like a generic 50 point commander would allow for some bonkers high activation count lists. Maybe we'll get a named super tactical droid or Nemoidian for around 100 but thats it.
*RUMOR* Anakin and Maul next

I wont be playing CIS til they get a >100pt commander.
Huh, didn't know about Maul. Anakin was spoken of, though.

I didn't think of that! Yeah, Iden Versio treatment. That would suit Maul well.

Even a 100-110 commander would be good. Freaking 175p bottom cost for our commanders is too much!
Bear in mind that this is the time when Empire and Rebels got their specialists. We may be seeing Operative Maul and a specialist box with a T-series tactical droid as a potential commander in the same release cycle.

That would be great. Seems like both GAR and CIS have been lacking with not generic commanders or orders. Would be an interesting addition to get a specialist box for them.
50pt is probably too cheap for CIS and thematically Clones.
Even a 120 pt commander for CiS would open up a lot of variations in lists (and sell way more toys)
I could see a generic 60pt Clone commander and then give him a couple of different armament options and 5pt jetpack gear.
Generic Clone commanders and Tactical droids are too iconic for them not to be in the game and personally I don't like a running many named characters or a heavy points investment in the commander so I'm waiting/hoping for them to be announced before I fully commit.
I demand Nute Gunray.
Nute Gunray!!!!!!!

Yeah, this is not a problem. Some folks were going to take 13/14 activation Imperial lists to Worlds. CIS will have that capability too as is once everything already promised for CIS is released.
B1 x 6 (216)
BX Sniper x 3 (156)
STAP x 3 (219)
The above is 12 activations for only 597. You could take a fairly tricked out Grievous with that to get to 13 activations. There is no reason to deny CIS a cheap commander at the moment to keep them from mass activations as it already exists elsewhere.

While I have not played with or against CIS yet I have to agree. The whole swarm was kind of their thing, all these CIS list should be high activation's.

Yeah I can see that, but in my opinion the game starts to break down when you have really big activation disparity from the start of the match.
Its just one of the quirks of alternating activations. There are ways they can mitigate it, but Legion doesn't have those rules mechanisms in place.

Blue player needs determined by activation count not points count unless they want to cap activations.
I'd rather have Ventress than Maul.

I'm sure she will come

Yeah I would love this change, especially with the new deployment/objective/condition cards coming out. Blue player will start to become verrry important. More important than a 10 point bid will signify.

Yeah I hate bidding. But if it is by max activations than republic is at a perma disadvantage

A generic 50-point CIS commander will presumably come in a CIS Specialists expansion; most likely a Super Tactical Droid (since a Tactical Droid is already an AAT pilot). The Imperial and Rebel Specialists personnel expansions were released ~9 months after the Legion core set. It's been less than 6 months since Clone Wars Legion was released, so it's understandable why the CW Specialists haven't been released yet -- although an announcement would be welcome news.
FFG gave the Separatists expensive Commanders for a reason: To balance out the super-cheap B1 Battle Droids.
The same 6 Corps limit applies to the CIS as the rest of the factions, so getting a Separatist army up to 800 points used to be a legitimate problem, before Dooku and the B2's were released. You had to equip a Heavy Weapon and Personnel on all 6 B1 Corps and fill Grievous' slots just to get to ~600 points. Then you either needed 2 Droidekas or Dooku to get to 800.
The "need" for a cheap CIS commander is only apparent now that we're on the other side of that problem.
Hmmmmm ... What else could that perspective apply to today? 🤨

I agree. I'd prefer Asaaj Ventress as a Commander or Operative more than Maul because she would be more thematic for the CIS. Maul was never on the side of the CIS; he was just against the Republic. Whereas Ventress was one of the arch-villains of the CIS in TCW, animated series, and comics.
If the Maul rumour is true, it's presumably because he was featured in Season 7 of TCW. Whereas Ventress has been out of the spotlight for ~8 years (?). Regardless, I'd love to pit Ventress against Obi-Wan and/or Anakin. A battle between an Obi-Wan & Anakin Republic army versus a Dooku & Ventress Separatist army would be awesome!

Why would you think more activations would be given the option to choose blue? Obviously more activations is advantageous than less, so the person with fewer activations gets to be blue. This would make it such that 7 or 8 activation lists could actually be viable.

Well I thought the inverse was obvious as well....
Also 8 activation lists are viable. I've never run more than 8 as republic and have done quite well.

Lol what? Why? Please explain how more activations is disadvantageous to fewer.

No the inverse that if blue went to fewer activations than the republic would here an advantage

Okay, why would you think that is I inherently advantageous to the republic?
