Just a question about Tranch. Doesnt seem like this hive world deserves/warrants its own unique world origin profile? More so the Maccabeus or Dusk? Or Volg?

Also, Landunder should have its own as well, they both seem rather unique.

I think Tranch will be the home of my next campaign to start out. And think the world would be the cross between feral/hive and the Tranch background package for Guardsman.

Any ideas?

Tranch is, more than anything else, a warzone. There was a big mutant uprising which got shattered, and those splinters were embedded so deep it's going to take decades to remove them. Most of the planet has been trashed, the civilised areas that are left aren't anywhere big enough to support the refugee population and the mutant insurgents the Guard have to try and fight are of a particularly horrible variety. A nomadic, semi-feral existence would be quite common for many people, though they'd probably be spared the worst of the mutated horrors (the Guard being a far better target). There's also a section on the Tranch Insurrection in the Calixis Timeline, which I'll post below.

Yes, I was referring to all that information when I made my original post. Im thinking that native hivers from Tranch would be different from your standard run of the mill hivers. Better toughness, lower Fellowship. Probably treat Survival and Forbidden Lore (Mutants) as basic skills and have the Jaded talent as well as 1D5 CP and 1D5 IP.

I would also give them Survivor's Instict: Characters from Tranch have had to adapt to the war by focusing on their natural abilities to scrounge food, water and shelter. As an option a character may elect to add +3 to his or her Perception score, but if they chose so they gain another 1D5 IP and CP.

You will probably find the section on the Pale Throng in Diciples of the Dark Gods another invaluable resource (once you get the book )

At this point I'm going to head into town as soon as I get back home and just buy a copy, Troll and Toad order be damned. Some lucky guy on Ebay can pick up the 2nd copy for a reasonable price.

As for Tranchers I'd say the new background should be for those citizens who were displaced. Those who somehow avoided the worst of the war will be living relatively normal lives as hivers.

Yups, DotDG has a great deal of info on the Tranch Insurrection, I love the Bloody book (has Shuriken weapon stats btw)...

This brings up something I've been thinking of: should there be a generic world choice added to the existing Imperial/Feral/Void/Hive choice of birth planets; War World ?

Rather than tayloring individual War World starting packages, you could have a general catch-all for people born into the eternal hell of a war world.
Has anyone done this yet?
