Smell those douglas firs!

Made a few large trees this week. Very happy with them. One can double as a dice tower

Very nice, and I like the light scatter tree terrain also.

Those are pretty nice. I feel like the footprint could be a little bigger, both for verisimilitude and to make them a little more stable at that height. Do you find that they interfere with reaching across the table to measure & move units?

Thank you. Mostly made those with leftover stuff from years ago.

Yeah I agree. We intended to go a bit larger. Problem was I sourced material from 3 places, with the plywood for bases still in a postal depot. We decided to use the scraps we had already. They havent got in the way, and they actually balance out fine. Theyre 75 x 450mm and pretty stable anyway. The roots are das clay, and the bark is polyfilla/spackle so the weight isnt top heavy.

The dice tower was a bit of a happy accident. The base we had to work with was sort of boomerang shaped. Decided to style it like a hollowed out tree. I have 2 nephews 7 and 5. The eldest is dying to play, but the youngest is like a tornado. We cant really let one play and not the other, so the dice tower will hopefully inhibit him from violently throwing dice across the table!

Great work on those threes. I went ahead and bought some from Amazon, some larger three stumps, that will fit nice in to my tropical forest table. I have a crap load of 28mm threes that I made for a WWII Normandy table, so will use them as well. I sort of wish that I had gone the way you guys have, and made my own larger threes. But we will see what comes out of this project :)

Thank you. athey were a little messy, but pretty simple to do. Just poster tubes and polyfilla and clay. (closer pics on instagram @abbmodels) The smaller trees are model railway and old GW. We're gonna make some conifers about half the height of the mega trees to take the place of the small ones. But it still looks good on the table as is. Good luck with yours. be sure to post the results

They look great!
