Is it just me or does there seem like more than a 10 point difference here?
Iden vs krennic
Iden is actually 130 points, you would not run her without her gun or droid. Krennic is arguably the best or one of the best support commanders in the game, his cost does not do justice to his value.

I'm not comparing her upgrades just the kit as is.
Same hp
She has better courage (first imperial Commander non force user with 3.)
He has better offensive dice but she has range, so to me that's a wash. He does have native ss1 where she has ss2 for a turn. She also had Marksman
She has better defense and nimble.
She has Quick thinking, so a way to feed nimble and marksman
He has compel (am ability I like but isn't on part with quick thinking imo)
He has cunning (a solid ability)
She has load out which gives her unprecedented flexibility.
Command cards
1 pip
Krennic - I like this card a lot, but the most common imperial lists don't getting a ton from it.
Iden - what wild you like wrecked my lord?
2 pip
Hard to say who had the edge here. Both are very good cards.
3 pip
I think iden wins this one pretty handedly.
My opinions. I'm also the president of the jyn is competitive club so what do I know?
The real question is.... Why not both
Its hard to compare the two units becuase Iden is a much more straightforward "run and gun" style operative/commander and Krennic is a pure support unit. He brings a ton to the table though.
Entourage Deathtroopers is incredible and frankly I dont think anyone runs him without them especially since comms relay allows those DTs to issue a free order to any nearby unit EVERY TURN.
Compel basically makes your nearby units partially immune to supression. And cunning allows him to beat out stuff like Son of Skywalker.
I would say that Iden is a one woman army and Krennic is a force multiplier.
I brought this up when they first revealed all of her cards. After playing with and against her, she really is hands down better than any other imperial individual other than palpatine (and he's 110pts more than her base)
Even fully loaded at 142-145 pts I don't know why you wouldn't take her (unless you just like handicaps ) competively
wait til you play Cassian. He's a beast with K2S0 (but still that's 180+pts for both with some upgrades)
Iden is hands down the best single figure in the game for her points.
Edited by buckero0I can't figure out Iden's costing. Seems obviously under costed.

This.
I was originally planning to first test Iden and Bossk in a list. But now I'm really liking the idea of trying to run Iden and Krennic together. "Deploy the Garrison" and "Tactical Strike" seem to get the most out of Death Troopers. Overall, Iden and Krennic just seem to synergize well together and get the most out of special forces units. The lists seem to have some good flexibility too with being able to infiltrate Iden if the situation calls for it (though I would prefer to keep her commander with the courage difference).
As to the original comparison - Iden does seem more cost effective than Krennic - even when counting that Krennic has better command cards and entourage with death troopers. But they are also distinctly different from each other too in the roles they play. I am curious to see if Iden will ultimately fill a roll like Bossk - being a super efficient game impact piece that kind of runs around on their own and forcing opponents to respond to a single unit. She does seem more cost effective than Bossk in this role.

Thought as much with her she just seems like a hard balance miss
I would like to see her r3 gun nerfed and her sniper buffed. This way she gets slightly nerfed and there will be a real choice for imperials what weapon to pick.

What were you running her with?
I think they really priced her aggressively becuase she is going to be on the front lines up against lightsaber wielders like Luke and Dooku and she doesnt have surge to defend or impervious like Boba Fett.
R.e. Iden vs Krennic; I don't think the 2 are particularly comparable. She is more similar to Boba.
R.e. Weapon Loadout; While the repeater looks more impressive then the sniper rifle, it lacks Pierce. And you can substitute if for the Concussive blast from the 2 pip for 1 turn. Finally it is a much safer option if you find her against a light-saber wielder or melee focused squadron.
I would always run her with the repeater. With her Marksman, its too easy to get multiple crits (ignoring cover or armor) or just 5 straight hits. She's very flexible.
I ran her with Veers (with electrobinoculars and Aggtactics) 2 units of Shoretroopers w/mortars and 2 Deathtroopers.
I am curious to see how the ISF compare to Deathtroopers.

mmaybe, but with range 3 and infiltrate, she can often just sit in heavy cover, Quickthinking and shoot and be good. She may actually be backing up when facing jedi to keep her distance. If the jedi get too close, her 2 pip or the droids' card will put a lot of hurt on.

You say that now, until you have to go buy her on ebay.
Between her mission profile and what a TL-50 is, Its basically an LMG with a concussion grenade launcher on it. I have no complaints about her fire power been wanting a shooter beat stick. She can challenge Jedi, but has to be trixy to do it due to lack of defensive options. Can't wait for her and hope she opens to door to other shooter beat sticks. Wouldn't mind seeing characters like Cara Dune for the rebels, The Ultra battle droid for Seps, Rep can't think of anyone who fits that bill yet and have this dream of General Rom Mohc in phase 3 Dark trooper armor, all of which could fit that roll.

Yeah I think shes good but not broken (just based on what has been revealed, have not play tested her yet, admittedly).
Comparing her to Krennic isn't really fair because Krennic can have a big board altering impact by hanging out in your back lines, while Iden has to go out up front to earn her value back to the list. People don't take Krennic for his saves or his pistol, and many games I don't even end up using either.
Iden players will be hard pressed not to get her wrecked by lightsaber heroes. All her fancy tricks don't mean much when she's engaged in melee with no force push or disengage keyword.
It will be cool to pair her with Veers or Krennic though.
She's range 3 (and can get steady) and has effectively 8 health. The Jedi might want to watch out. With her command cards, it is not difficult to get 3 shots on an approaching Jedi Melee figure, loads of suppression and she has 5 dice in melee herself with the droid.
With all that, she's probably 5-10pt undercosted, which is not terrible. There will be games where she feels invincible, and punches way above her cost though
Any chance they are going to release her anytime soon?

Her shield on the droid wont work in melee, and Jedi arent generally approaching over open ground, but going from LoS locker to LoS blocker (or using engagements to avoid getting caught out in the open).
Im interested to try her out to see how she stacks up against force users on the front lines. She'll be a tempting target without impervious or the mobility of a jetpack.

she is semi released. If your FLGS has an Asmodee NA account they can get it shipped. Rumors are that Alliance is shut down though.
I've been proxing her for a while now. And even at 10 points more Iden would be a near auto include for me when playing a competitive imp list.

I guess it depends on your terrain. If you only play cityfight and everything is LOS blocking, you can reposition Iden in response to which way they are approaching. The shield helps her against anyone else's shots, and there is no jedi with a shield. Jedi usually can be lured in because you almost always know which way they're going to go which means you get to direct the traffic.
Everyone keeps saying "front lines" in this post. My point is melee is defined as base to base. Range 3 is 18 inches. She doesn't need to be on the front lines anymore than 80+% of the rest of your army needs to be on the front lines. Just because she has infiltrate does not mean that you should infiltrate with Iden.
She pretty much ignores cover if she wants. She eats snipers dor breakfast, same with dodge tokens (if you want, she can get the crits)

I already received her in. Ordered her last week off of Amazon.
