Vader hits hard enough, and with his cost, those 7pts can go towards better wingmates, which is why you probably dont see him with prockets. Does it work? Sure. But 5 dice one time for 7pts or 4 dice with a crit all the time.

In hyperspace, may be a decent sub for afterburners. Cant boost into range 1, get bullseye at range 2. Turn him into a straight up hammer.

yeah seems like a potentially good combo for First Order Vader. His Afterburners are free and have infinite charges and no speed restriction, quite the powerful card combo. I've been enjoying it immensely.

Vader = good with things? Probably.

For expensive extended Vader, I think I pay 5 more points, add bid and swap Precog, FCS for Prockets, Passive. All in on the degeneracy. But depends on taste and wingmen I guess.

For HS, Prockets R2 instead of Burners R1 sounds nice.

How is vader getting 4 dice all the time?

Prockets are R1-2 bullseye - which in practice means most ships are in R1 anyway when you make the bullseye work (not always of course, but making r1 bullseye work is a lot easier than hitting it in the r2 band). In that scenario Vader would had a modified 4 red shot anyway, which is already plenty of firepower and doesn't cost 7 points. 😉

Adding more points on Vader makes him a greater priority really, not sure if you want to do that. Other aces with their double repo and evades are just little bit better bunkering those points in the end.

In almost all circumstances where Vader could fire Prockets, he would be in a position to lock the target. This would trigger the TIE/x1 ship ability, which allows it to roll one additional attack dice. It is also highly likely that Vader will also be at range one, bringing us up to four dice.

A while back, I was playing some Vader/Maarek/Reaper, with Afterburners and Prockets on both /x1. I don't think it was a great list, but it was a bunch of fun. With a Reaper coordinate, it's not too hard to be throwing two 5-dice double-mod attacks.

I agree with @funwok . Keeping Vader as cheap as possible seems to work best- at least for me. Another thing that I do on Vader (and experienced players, feel free to tell me if this is wrong), is put a Shield Upgrade on him. Often times this is unnecessary. Also, can someone explain to me what @Boom Owl means by FO Vader. Is that just another name for Kylo??

Seems like a worse Advanced Proton Torpedoes, kinda. Best-case single-round dice mods for Kylo is Lock + 1 Force, with 1 Force to use IA. To be sure, you can do this Range 2 Bullseye (and with an action free to Boost/Roll, doesn't seem too hard), where APT doesn't work.

That said, paying 8 points for a 2nd charge of APT might be worth.

In my totally-not-meta-but-great-fun Vader 3-Force RAC (or Oicunn) lists his prockets are loads of fun and help him smash something to bits while they are stuck on RAC/Oicunn. That being said, the 7 points might be better served as a bid to help the Vader/RAC variant choose first player. Prockets on Vader are a lot of fun though.

The real answer is passive sensors procket vader is excellent. Its just worse than precog and moving last. So it feels bad.

The thing with Proton Rockets Vader is that he can easily get a Lock and Roll in the same turn.

Other TIE/x1? Not so much. That's why they're so tempting to me on Maarek (although I know they're probably kinda bad). Maarek could--on those turns he absolutely has to roll--still spin up a 5-dice attack. Worth the cost? Almost surely not. Oh, but it's so sweet.

i have played a lot of after passive prockets vader and he works!

prockets on veder are very easy to aim and onestlty they are not so expensive for what they do.

yes 7 points are a lot but consider this:

Often with this attack doublemodded you can:

1)have half points of an enemy ship that is allways a lot more than 7 points

2)allow a squad that normally can't destroy a tanky ship (as a t65 or t70 or an inquisitor) in 1 turn of fire to do it.

3) one shot a little ship

so.... they are very very very good

The First Order is Empire Cosplay. Hux wanted to be Tarkin. Phasma was a Stormtrooper, but she wanted to be cool and shiny. Kylo is dressing up as Grandpa.

While their ships are nothing alike in game, who ****ing else could possibly be First Order Vader? Literally no one.
