I haven’t really found the default deck lacks damage actually. Between Attackrobatics and Widowmaker she’s doing a fair amount of damage in the Villain phase, and I’m frequently finding myself with so many cards in play that she’s frequently getting back to Dance of Death and Stealth Strike. I’ve actually found her one of the best in solo play (probably better than Doctor Strange who I’ve found really strong into Rhino, but not so good against the more minion heavy scenarios).

The only thing with BW-J is that because she spends more time in AE, she has a harder time procing preps and getting the ping damage from her hero ability (most preps require her to be in hero mode in villain phase).

In Protection, once she has Synth-Suit, she is near invincible and can stay in hero mode long term, getting a tonne of plink damage from her ability.

Leadership is interesting because Rapid Response is the only prep that can proc in the hero phase, and that has interesting synergy with Synth suit.

Aggression is my least favorite, not much synergy, counterattack is a good card, just not with BW.

Anybody who pre-ordered BW from FFG/Asmodee get a shipping notice yet?

On May 22nd I received an email saying my pre-order would be shipping soon. My debit card was processed a few days later. I received another email this weekend saying the same thing but still no shipping confirmation.

Pre-quarantine I was getting pre-orders about a week before the scheduled release date... presumably things are still a little slow.

I had the same thing and just got "shipping soon" notifications for a couple of other things, but still no actual shipping notifications.

Well, I finally got one shipping notice for a Black Widow deck. Is the warehouse in Minnesota? I could see that severely slowing things down on top of the Covid precautions. I'm still waiting for shipping notices for LOTR LCG, AH LCG, the new AH book, and another Black Widow (I bought one for my dad).

Somebody on Discord said something about a delay due to The State of the twin cities area.

I'm not at all surprised. I figured that was going to end up factoring into the shipping delays that they've already had. Not their fault, so I'm not angry at FFG.

I received my Black Widow deck from Asmodee today.

Seems my Black Widow and my other stuff hasn't shipped yet. I saw that I had charges pending but it seems only one stuck and no shipping notice.

Curious how long my order will be delayed due to the riots.

What a fun deck BW is! I expected to like her but she is instantly one of my favourites. Her starter deck might be the strongest this far? Starter decks I mean.

Just got my Black Widow yesterday. So far loving the character. My favorite aspect with BW is Justice. Going to try BW with Protection today and test out playing against Klaw expert.

Got my copy earlier this week but only opened it yesterday. She's a blast to play, but once I noticed that her nemesis card is numbered 1/5 instead of 2/5 like all other sets before, I was finally at peace. 😂

I think it’s that her play style is very counter-spell heavy, she’s like playing Blue in MTG. Deny, deny, deny. The only thing she’s missing is stuns, but that’s mitigated we’ll by her high defense, and (once it’s in play) her suit that both increases defense and makes it likely you can block against two attacks if needed.

I’m glad you posted this, my mind went to the same place thinking Black Widow is blue. I can’t wait for that mono green Hulk to drop!

Does Grappling Hook get the whole Treachery card including the Surge (when its a keyword - not part of the when revealed effect)...eg. Grappling Hook vs Exhaustion?

Yup! But Black Widow has to be the one to reveal the encounter card, she can’t trigger Grappling Hook (or Spycradt) against other players’ cards like you can with Enhanced Spider Senses and Protective Ward.

The reason turned out to be the change in relationship with Asmodee and Alliance Distributing, orders were just straight up cancelled without any communication to the B&M stores. 😕 Hopefully this is something FFG gets figured out in the future.
