How is SWL doing?

By VAYASAN, in Star Wars: Legion

Just back into Legion after an enforced holiday...back playing skirmish (not buying anything as I cant find any stock) Got a large IMP/REB armies so plenty to choose from for now.

General question with my long holiday, how is SWL doing overall? I know it wont be approaching 40k figures...but is the game considered a success and growing for example?

My Legion minis have been in a display case and only got them out again recently....forgot how nice the figures are.

Legion is doing great.

Actually, the last I heard (Spring last year) Legion was holding spot number 5 in the top 5 best selling TTGs, and that was before the release of the long awaited clone wars expansions.

The sculpts are getting better with every release and, thanks to TTS, the community is still able to keep playing through out this crisis

I'm in a rural area, and Legion is doing well. If a game has a player base here, it pretty much has to be doing well everywhere else. The release of two new factions of republic and separatists only increased the interest in the game. The biggest difficulty is getting what you want, which is a result of demand but also FFG seems to been having greater supply problems lately, even before all the COVID-19 stuff. I always preorder what I want and have always been able to get it at release, but I know that isn't true for everyone. After initial release if I find myself wanting something, it can sometimes be difficult to get those additional units.

TauntaunScout rides between people's houses on his trusty snow lizard steed relaying their orders and command cards so that we can play by correspondence without breaking quarantine!

And as we all know, Tauntauns are speed three, so those orders are relayed faster than you would think possible!

I've got an Airspeeder that says that's slow, however as we all know 4 tauns are greater than an airspeeder or an x34(or 2)

In my area one group stopped playing, then we had a drop at the last tournament and since January there hasn't been stock to buy, so i am worried once thes crisis finishes that we may no longer have a community

I think the game is doin well. Sadly with the corona problem I haven't been able to play in a while, new expansions are stuck in shipping and tournaments and events are cancelled.

At least we have alot of free time to build terrain and paint the backlog. 😋

Our group has been brainstorming map campaigns, a summer league, and future events for our store via discord. It’s been encouraging. But wow, the crazy awesome tables we will have to play on!

If I had a group, I think that's where I would put my focus too. Nothing to buy at your local store? Order or make some terrain. Come out of our extended time in Carbonite with some awesome boards to play on and more minis painted.

Contrary to what others may suggest, it’s doing poorly... every time I go to my living room no one is playing Legion! I checked out my bedroom and the same there it’s just dead! I see all this product literally just sitting on the shelves unused... sad...

That's just anecdotal evidence. All I have to do to get a game is poke my brother with a stick, and ask if he wants to play. Legion has really picked up the last month or so in my area. My area being defined as the house my brother and I share.
