Republic era Mandalorian army

By Exuberant_Flask, in Army Building

With the release of the Mandalorian Resistance being released I want to make a Republic era Mandalorian army/army addition. The easiest way I see it would be just to use them as a special forces units. Thus my question being, which side makes more sense to use them? As the Republic training the clones or Death Watch with a little Separatist support?

As far as I know Mandalorians were already a pacifist nation during the clone wars and before that they usually hated/fought the republic and the jedis. Only exception would probably be some death watch mercenaries on both sides. I might be wrong but lore wise I think that Mandalorians shouldn't be part of any faction during the clone wars.

If there will be another mandalorian expansion it should be the Shadow Collective under Gar Saxon for the Empire.

You'll have a hard time putting them in the Separatist or Republic faction. I do see FFG releasing a Mercenary Mandalorian Coven set with the Armorer and Viszla heavy options and you could fit a Gar Saxon Empire unit as they were pretty prevalent during the Rebels Show (we have not seen Fenn Rau yet though for the rebels) I personally would rather see Stormtrooper Jump troops (jetpack wearing stormtroopers) as seen in Imperial Assault and the Rebels cartoon than yet another Mandalorian armored unit.
