LeHuse with Prockets ?

By Silver_leader, in X-Wing

Did someone tried a list that looks similar to this:

Lieutenant LeHuse — TIE/SF Fighter 39
Fanatical 2
Proton Rockets 7
Special Forces Gunner 10
Hull Upgrade 5
Ship Total: 63
Half Points: 32 Threshold: 4
Zeta Squadron Survivor — TIE/SF Fighter 32
Cluster Missiles 5
Passive Sensors 3
Ship Total: 40
Half Points: 20 Threshold: 3
Lieutenant Rivas — TIE/FO Fighter 27
Advanced Optics 4
Ship Total: 31
Half Points: 16 Threshold: 2
Major Vonreg — TIE/Ba Interceptor 57
Daredevil 2
Hull Upgrade 7
Ship Total: 66
Half Points: 33 Threshold: 3

The idea is that Vonreg puts a lock on the defender, and so Rivas. Then Lehuse can use Rivas's lock for his attack. Seta tyakes his lock with his passive ability, then rivas takes another lock for himself.

I can see the synergy here that could be effective but I feel the setup is going to be challenging and requires you to commit all your ships on a target, which could leave you vulnerable after the initial engagement.

The big synergy Is Lehuse with Rivas.

I think of flying Vonreg by the side and coming from behind could be a nice strategy, and Rivas getting evades and blocking as much as he can could be a good move.

I'll try it out :)

I like that you're going for double mods on a procket, that's really going to hurt if/when it hits. It's the sort of combo I'm attracted to too. Just don't lean too hard into the combo; the fleet needs to be able to function in pieces or it's too delicate as a whole.

IMO, consider removing one or both hull upgrades to give your aces a bid. And/or upgrade the Zeta Survivor to Backdraft/Phasma. And/or to equip Pattern Analyzer on Major Vonreg so he can either position his bullseye after a sloop or k-turn, or simply dodge arcs and stay alive.

I'd also consider Concussion or Homing Missiles over Cluster, but depends on what you're hunting I suppose.

I find LeHuse likes proud tradition better than fanatical, here because slooping to set up a procket is hilarious, and in my builds because I give him SF gunner.

That makes sense. Fanatical is nice in general, but probably least useful on an SF due to the high shield-to-hull ratio. On LeHuse who is ideally getting his Lock provided, simply having a focus each turn is great. Fanatical allows your action to be defensive, but only when you're mostly already dead. Proud just opens up your dial a bunch, and if you get stuck on Red focus, you can Evade or use your rather decent Blues.

Proud Tradition is a good idea. Having a procket from a S-loop is really interesting.

Putting concussion on Zeta in mandatory, I also agree.

I think that putting outmaneuver at vonreg instead of Daredevil gets him more interesting.

Alo, I can put a Mag-pulse Warhead on Vonreg instead of his extra hull

Stupid question, but can u have a rear bullseye arc with heave weapon turret??

There is no bullseye arc on the rear or sides of any ship's base. It's always printed on the forward arc. We may someday see a ship that has a bullseye elsewhere, and that would be very interesting to fly, but no such thing has been revealed yet.

I don't think LeHuse pairs well with Proton Rockets. He can only fire them directly forward, can't get full use out of them.

With proud tradition and Vonreg doing a lock on his target, LaHuse can s-loop, make a focus action while stressed, fire his procket with his focus, and double-mod his dices with vonreg's or Rivas's lock.

I agree that you don'T use the special force gunner for the procket turn,. but for all the other turns that Lahuse will be there, the gunner will be needed for the firepower IMO.

I prefer Holo over Vonreg, which would allow you to upgrade other parts of the list.

I'd tackle this from a different angle. Take a faux salad with LeHuse and Rivas in it, and remove points until you have enough for prockets. That way, you don't lean too much into the combo - but still got it once it happens.

So, e.g. PT Holo, LeHuse with gunner and prockets, Rivas, Scorch, and another FO. That should be good enough to let you play the combo.

I've played on Fly Casual with my latest variant, which is LeHuse / Malarus / Rivas / Vonreg, and I like it. But Malarus is worth a ton of points.

I prefer Vonreg over Holo simply because of his init 6.

Next thing I will try is 5 ships like that:

Major Vonreg (57)
Outmaneuver (6)
Ship total: 63 Half Points: 32 Threshold: 2

Lieutenant LeHuse (39)
Proud Tradition (2)
Proton Rockets (7)
Ship total: 48 Half Points: 24 Threshold: 3

Lieutenant Rivas (27)
Ship total: 27 Half Points: 14 Threshold: 2

"Scorch" (33)
Fanatical (2)
Ship total: 35 Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2

Epsilon Squadron Cadet (25)
Ship total: 25 Half Points: 13 Threshold: 2

Total: 198

Gives more ships to get down, a blocker so Rivas can get his locks in peace, and some firepower with scorch/LeHuse/Vonreg.

Oh, okay. Valid.

Yeah, that's a better choice tbh. Especially with Holo's token swapping shenanigans. Good synergy with LeHuse.

Neat
