Can you remove the die prior to assigning damage or do you have to do resolve them in the order listed? They are two separate sentences without an "if/then". Asking so Kit Fisto's die could be removed so the damage from the Shien Mastery damage could be pushed through.

You must perform each sentence in the order it is written. Since dealing 2 damage is first, you must deal the damage before you can remove a die showing damage.
