Conan / Sword & Sorcery with Genesys

By DarthDude, in Genesys

Did anybody try to do Sword & Sorcery (Conan style) using Genesys? I do dearly love the 2D20 version but I would appreciate a less crunchy system for rather roleplay newbies.

Characters in Conan stories tend to be very competent from the start on. How would you approach such a Genesys sword and sorcery setting, where the heroes are more durable than in the usual Genesys fantasy setting like Terrinoth? Any advice?

hmm ...

  • halve character creation costs or double overall xp for character creation
  • allow skill specializations like in "open d6" (ie. subskills that add to dicepool)
  • halve talent tree xp cost (see EPG) on character creation

since you already seam to have the 2d20 edition of conan, porting its skill/talent trees over to genesys ?

my 2c

I like this idea very much, it would give the players the opportunity to raise stats considerably above average.

I try to do as much out of the Genesys box as possible without trying to invent/port over too many talents from another system. But maybe some talents to better deal with minion groups would fit the Conan tone.

by "porting" the tree i dont ment porting the talents (at least not on first sight), but rather find fitting existing ones
