House Specific Keywords

Are these mechanics even being supported anymore?

We have 1 intimidate character(Nute the Barber) from the last 2 chapter pack cycles but nothing else to speak of.

A Time of Ravens gave us Maester of the Sun, Arena Knight, Pirates of Orkmont and some events.

The GJ box had Victarion, PotS had Darkstar and Ellaria and LoW has nothing.

By my count that is 7 characters supporting 4 keywords over 3 CP cycles and 3 box expansions.

Don't even get me started on Ambush enfadado.gif

Yeah I was just thinking about that myself. I'm guessing that they are using cards that they had left over from the CCG days but aren't actually creating any new cards with the keywords. Its pretty sad too because I thought they were all really awesome. Except for Stalwart. Man that just never worked out how I wanted it to.

I totally agree. Infamy has even less support than ambush with only two legal cards in the whole game!

Yeah, I would very much like to see the house keywords explored again. Infamy and Stalwart haven't gotten much love. I could see each of them being done in interesting ways to finally make combo decks viable in AGOT....

I always thought that these keywords are (should be) so powerful, that they must be scarce. I can't imagine 30 characters in Greyjoy deck with Intimidate. It wouldn't be so special anymore. But I started with core set and don't know what this looked like in ccg era.

The house keywords have always been sort of blah to me. My favorite is infamy just because its original. I like the keywords just because they add more flavor to the game, but i'm not in love with any of them, especially stalwart, I have alot of trouble imagining stalwart to be any good, every time i've played with it it just hampers my drawing ability and I use the same blah characters over and over again.

Imagine if stalwart said something like, after this character is killed shuffle it back into your deck then draw a card...Limit, only one card can be drawn per round, or phase, or whatever. Now that would be worth using.

I've never been a fan of the concept of House specific keywords (I think it just creates too much of a balancing issue to keep the keywords equal, and for the most part what they did had already been done in the game without needing the keyword), so it won't bother me if they go away.

I'd keep keywords extremely limited, and always available to all houses

I agree with you on Stalwart, Wrecking Ball. I think your version of it would be much more useful. As it is, it chokes draw which makes it feel like two steps forward, one step back.
