My apologies, that is just my manner of speech. I could have said "Sure, I'm up for it", but that only occurred to me later.

I think @LTD was being facetious.
You may both submit a fleet list to me by PM in the next 48 hours. After submitting fleets, your fleet location will be visible to your opponent (to discourage players from camping in one area for too long) and at the beginning of each turn I'll announce hyperpings (so that you have an idea of where to shoot).
Keep in mind that once you build a fleet, you're stuck with it, so plan carefully. Unlike the Warlords games, adding new ships and squadrons isn't easy--it takes two turns just to build an X-wing or TIE Fighter.
One new change: you may purchase and equip upgrades during phase one of any turn. However, Grav Shift Reroute and Proximity Mines have a very specific timing window, so there's no point in buying them later.
Edit: To make things quicker, you can also tell me through PM where you're deploying your ships/squads. @GhostofNobodyInParticular You'll be in the red section (A1-A6, B1-B5, C1-C6) and @LTD you'll be in the green section (G10-G15, H10-H14, I10-I15).

Only if you don't want to get torn to bits by GNIP.

I have a feeling he'd beat me either way. . .
Trust your feelings...
Ok, so first read through - Squads can only shoot at things in the same hex, but combat comes before Jump... So my X-Wings have to jump to a location and then hope the enemy jump into that location to fight me? Or they jump into a location and then hope the opponent doesn't just jump away the following turn...?
Maybe I need to read it again.
So it's simultaneous, so the squads have to GUESS where the opponent will be NEXT turn, and jump there this turn.
Yes?

Precisely. Squads are the cheapest unit but their range is incredibly limited.
Hint to both players: Use terrain to your advantage.

Yes?
Yep. Keep in mind that hyperpings will tell you where the enemy is located this turn (but the enemy can also simply move away).
Ok. Fleet submitted!
Do we know what the opponent's fleet is, or just hyperping locations?

Only locations. If you land on the same hex as an enemy unit, I'll say "an X-Wing encounters an Arquitens at F6" or something like that. I'll also announce the results of battles, also like the Warlords games, which will give you an idea of what your opponent has and where it is (or was, before movement).
Basically, you need to get close and/or attack if you want to know your opponent's fleet. That information doesn't come easily!
@GhostofNobodyInParticular @LTD
Since it may not be efficient to fill your fleet to exactly 300 points, I'll let you any use leftover points (up to 5 points) in turn 1. Any more than 5 is gone.
Fleet submitted as well!
Bring it on nips!
