I wanted to first apologise if people felt over the past few weeks we've produced or shared our content excessively. We had a lot of content to get through prior to RoRS and so it may have being a bit overwhelming.

For those who don't know us, we are Alter-Egos a fan podcast from Australia that are focused on creating Marvel Champions content.

In August we produced an abundance of content to catch up with our schedule prior to the release of Rise of Red Skull. This resulted in us recording 8 full length episodes which included numerous content creator collaborators and an interview with designer Michael Boggs.

We also are working on a deck analysis series called Honorary Deck which recently recommenced to good reception.We commenced a Youtube channel to further share our content though we are still working on how best to utilise that space

So what will be new for Season 3?

Well as I head towards full time employment next year we really need to find a system that is sustainable for the podcast. At present that appears to be one deck discussion per week and one podcast episode per week (of approx 30 mins).

Season 3 will commence September 17th as we spend a bit longer than a week planning out what our road map is for the next few months. A season will officially be from one campaign box to another moving forward so that there are easy access points to the content.

A few bits of feedback I wanted to address about our podcast here first.

1. Recently someone wrote a review stating our quality had dipped and there was too much content to keep up with. I apologise if that has been the experience of anyone here and I'd love to here any feedback if you felt the quality dived in anyway. I felt between a designer interview and numerous content creator guests Alter-Egos had a very deep and successful August but I'm very happy to take on board suggestions or criticism some of you might have had.

2. Audio mix. There was an issue with the audio in 1-2 episodes. I apologise for this. Due to lock down I can't pick up the equipment I ordered a while back (out of my own pocket) to address more easily. I'll be more cautious in setting up for recording to ensure the levels are balanced.

I’m a little behind on my post casts so I’ve only just started the Bogg interview episode, but I’ve really enjoyed what you’ve put out. Keep it up!

Personally I love your content and feel its very valuable.

You can't ever please everyone all the time and bear that in mind, don't take any criticism to heart, you are providing great content for a game we all love.

If I was to say anything it's that I prefer the slightly shorter episodes rather than the longer ones.

Thats probably my issue but I do struggle with people's YouTube replays of the game for example that are too long.

I find the way you host the podcast excellent as you always manage to let the other speakers get their point across with your excellent questioning.

I would love commentary on the lore of the game as to how it gets realised into game terms, deck construction, design topics, scenario and hero reviews are all topics I love.

Keep at it, it's one of my favourite sets of content for the game.

Thanks for the feedback and kind words. Shorter episodes is definitely always something I keep in my head. We are restructuring how we approach hero or scenario reviews to fit in line with that. I still hope to maintain a depth and quality of content that feels in line with our vision for the podcast. The interview approach is certainly something we want to expand on and I think the podcast works best where that dynamic is present. A discussion about top down vs bottom up design is definitely something I'll keep in mind for a future topic! Thanks for the suggestion. reviews are all topics I love.

Love your podcast. I drive an hour to work and home each day so I am starved to find something to listen to, so I personally have never had an issue with the length of your episodes (I've probably listened to each episode twice, and the Hulk review 3 times). I'm listening to the latest Sidescheme episode while I write this: Remedy is guest host. Thank you for keeping me awake on the drive home, keep up the great work.

Thanks HirumaShigure, It's funny you mention the hour long drives as for a lot of other FFG card games that was my experience too. Wanting to listen to content as I travel to and from work. I'm hoping the cast is providing content worth listening to and with Season 3 I want to double down on what is really working for the cast! The Side Scheme are running a really interesting league which was fun to talk about!
