As I just started the game, I've barely played anything.. though I have barely any interest in most of it. I was really hoping the HMP's would make some good lists with the Nantex, so pushing them back is really dissolving my interest in the game.

The Nantex and the HMP seems to have some anti-synergy. The HMP's chassis ability wants as many locks out there as possible to get mods while the Nantex has zero capability to lock a ship currently. Berwer Kret has a little synergy as he can allow droids that took a lock action to potentially get a lock, but as I see it, these two ships don't work well together.

Actually, that would be a pretty neat option.
Targeted Jammers-1 point. Same as jamming beam, but it just has a mobile arc. Neat option for ships with turrets if you can't afford a Dorsal, since it at least lets you do something.

There is an I2 limited HMP called "Geonosian ..." that looks like it may deal with tractors in a meaningful way. Its pilot ability reads along the lines of "while you perform a missile or...you may remove one t(ractor?)...from the defender to reroll...attack dice." If this is reroll like a true target lock and not the FCS ability the gunship has then it gives a better reason to dump tractors on medium and large base ships among other things. So there is a chance. It may also fit into a non-awkward points total with Nantex in list building.
All that said I'm at least curious on it! Wishful thinking.

This is a rough time to be new. Heck, it’s a rough time for anyone jonesing for a game—even me, a vet. Maybe at some point I’ll get over the hump with TTS and be able to play online like many others, but it’s been slow going getting it to work and figuring it out. So I hear you—this isn’t a great time to be in the game.
Disappointing as it may be for now, though, I’d urge you to keep faith that we’ll come out of this with plenty of interesting stuff on the other side. FFG has built a strong set of rules with 2.0 and has done a pretty good job of nurturing it with points and rules updates. The new ships aren’t coming out quite as hot and heavy as they once did, but they do come, and (barring rereleases) it generally seems like FFG has an eye towards expanding faction capabilities rather than just giving “another version of _______.”
So hang in there, Viceroy—our trade blockade will yet be made legal.

On the other hand, Kalani does seem to work with Nantex (and any other organic pilot, for that matter). The long-promised "targeting computer"!

To be honest, unless a ship has multiple tractor tokens, that doesn't sound great. Give the defender better defense to maybe roll better. No thanks.

At i2 you wouldn't be taking many more attacks anyway. All Nantex can shoot before this HMP could. Problem is, as far as "synergizing" with Sun Fac and Chertek you'd need to get the tractor on their target before i6 and i4 shooting respectively.

I missed that Kalani wasn't perform a lock action, but rather acquire a lock. So synergy does exist.
Sounds fine on a medium or large base that isn't "tractored", to be fair.
I'm not saying it will be good even. There just might be some unexplored synergy here.

Oh yeah that'd actually be really cool and flavorful, would also make VTG worth it. You're not trying to mod a free shot, just kinda' hoping it gets off.
You know, B-Wings + Autoblaster/Jamming + S-Foils is an expensive but cool option.

I suppose a dirt cheap but not free jam turret does have value on most forward arc ships capable of taking a turret. Y-Wing, Scurrg, Aggressor and... I feel I forgot somone?
