Which elite group is going to be the best/your favorite?

So i just noticed a similarity between Deathtroopers/BX Droids/ ARCs/Clan Wren troops.

All have various armament options, are special forces, have decent saves compared to the other options in their factions. They have multiple weapons with multiple ranges. They all look to be in the mid-70s points-wise. While Deathtroopers have been out much longer than the rest and were perhaps the prototype of this type of unit, which do you think will have the largest impact on their faction over time? Which will be the funnest to play? (I know we don't have all the info yet on the ARC named characters nor the rules on the Wren clan)

BX droids I think, will be best used as sniper teams. 180pts for 3 sniper activations with hunter would really help the droids.

I think clan wren and arcs have a great protential though. Great defence and mobility with a most likely a good offense. Or perhaps they will be sniper bait.

BX Droids hands down. Out of what we've seen so far from the groups listed, these are definitely the most flexible. Need a unit to hold an objective? Give them the shields and HQ Uplink. Need a fast attack group? Give them their swords and offensive push. The only thing they can't really do is act as activation padding and that's only because naked B1s can do that fantastically.

I feel like for true versatility of multiple play styles, the BX droids will win.

I am pretty stoked for ARCs though. And I think that the uniques in the Inferno box are going to be some of the true winners, even though they’ll be embedded in corps units instead.

Tauntaun riders.

BX seem to fill some important holes in CIS lists, so I'm pretty stoked on having them!

I'm curious about which you think will get used. I'm having an hard time fitting or finding a use for the uniques in a corps unit over the unit's standard heavy weapon option. Gideon on Snowtroopers was brought up, but I still think the flamer has it beat for half the cost.

Del Meeko works in army with a tank or at-st but I personally think the plain Scout sniper is still better for the points and activation.

Stormtroopers have so many heavy weapon options as it is, and I have a hard time replacing the T-21 on the Shoretroopers (that gun is so effective on that unit as, is)

If they were allowed to count as Personnel instead of Heavy Weapons on the Corps units, I think you'd see more of them.

Right now I think they must have some serious synergy with the Inferno squad/ISF unit.

Echo and Fives on the other hand, I think are really going to help your plain-jane Clones. The Republic does so well with borrowing off each other to fill in token needs. I also think if the rumor is true and Fives has five dice, I can see him really adding some oomf or taking the place of the DC15 (only 6 points more) I can't wait to see the keywords they have.

Personally, I can't wait for the Clan Wren, even though thematically I don't agree with them (kind of like the wookiees probably belong in the Republic army not Rebel) I can't wait to model and build them, paint them and then they seem to have some different play-styles that a lot of other factions may just be tapping in to. Or maybe we just know the least about them, so my imagination is running wild with that unit.

Gideon looks pretty solid on a unit of Shores. Send a coordinate to the emplacement (mortar or eweb) AND a coordinate to another trooper. You may lose that range 4 but the order control seems really good.

I'm not sure you'd be able to coordinate to both off of one unit (as it's not numbered, does it even stack?). I would imagine on Shoretroopers it would become a Coordinate: Emplacement "or" Trooper. Kinda like the STAPs get to coordinate to vehicles or troopers.

Of course, you could still be right, what do I know.

They’re two separate keywords of coordinate at that point. It wouldn’t be either or without some errata or RRG clarification to the keyword. Both can proc separately as I read the current rules.

Okay. I don't play Imperials as much (almost never) so that part of his rules escapes me. I was just looking at the reduced range and crit abilities. I am looking forward to Iden Versio though.

Given how the rules-reminder text for the keyword on the STAP reads, I wouldn't be surprised if they change or "clarify" that before Inferno Squad comes out.
