doesn't the jetpack smoke trails need to be clear or they will count to the LOS of the mini?

At this point, I only play casually with a friend, so I'm not particularly concerned about the chance to LoS; I am sure that FFG's fix will come out soon enough

Looks great! How did you do the smoke?

I really like the conversion, the weapons just scream too much "Eldar" to me, I would have stuck with the original guns. Can't wait to see this guy painted up, curious to see what you'll do to him 🙂

I don't believe he changed the weapons, he just added blaster flashes at the end of each pistol barrel.

I couldn't see it on the photo, it was a bit blurry, but you could be right

I was perusing the internet to make my models more interesting and stumbled across https://figurepainters.com; the smoke trails they had available looked to be around the right size. I lucked out and they were almost perfect. I ordered the "Rocket Pack Smoke Trails (14)" and used the one I liked the most for Rex. I had to adjust the angle of the smoke trails slightly to line it up perfectly with the nozzles but it wasn't difficult at all - just a few seconds under a heat gun then holding it in place while it cooled back down. Once the angles were right, I used a hand drill to create holes in both the jetpack nozzles and the top of the smoke trails in order to pin them together. I just used small pieces of a paper clip to pin them together, nothing too fancy. I plan on using the other ones to spice up the ARC Troopers whenever they finally release.

Thank you! I really appreciate that! Ha, it is going to take me a l-o-n-g while before I can post pictures of him painted - I've never painted minis before and I want Rex to look as perfect as I possibly can, though I'm actually leaning towards painting him as Wolffe, I really like the Wolf Pack.

I used one each of (https://armorcast.com/acfx026-pistol-short-controlled...) and (https://armorcast.com/acfx027-rifle-short-controlled...) because I didn't want them to look identical. Chili-52 is correct, I didn't change the weapons themselves, I just drilled into them a little bit to pin the flashes to the pistols more securely, which had the unfortunate side effect of widening the muzzle end of the pistol. Thankfully, that isn't too noticeable.

The only part of this mod that was actually time consuming was adjusting the angle of his feet. It looked weird to me for his feet to be completely horizontal - after all, he is supposed to be airborne. I carefully removed them and cut a different angle into his calves with an X-Acto knife, cleaned the edges with sandpaper, and used the aforementioned method to pin his feet to his legs for some semblance of stability.

Yeah, sorry about the quality of the photos, I am no photographer and Luke described my phone perfectly in A New Hope: "What a piece of junk"

Great conversion!

I know it's probably your first flight, and it's (ha ha) mine too!
