My rebel fleet, sector France

By GreenLeader, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Hi everybody !

I've been playing and painting armada minis since the beginning and I never posted here before. A friend of mine told me to fix that ! As everybody, thanks to Covid-19 I'm stuck in my flat, so I took the time to make it !

In 2015-16, all I had painted were the Following ships and squads :

I apologize for the pictures, my technology level was very low at the moment ! ^^

Next wave in 2017 :

Then, I lost myself during about three years… And a virus gave me the Opportunity to (as siths like to say) "finish what I've started" . Here is the job I took back, back from the grave, like Obi wan's name :

In used condition, each model in a different step of the process.

Undercoating all that s...tuff... :

Finishing all the bases, starting to paint all hulls and …. Oh… It's night !!!

Don't worry, it looks ugly until the last "brush hit" (Don't know if you say that in English ^^ ) and without the cardborads/shields

I hope my English was understandable. You know our reputation … 🤣 . When the fleet will be complete, I will make new pics

May the Force be with us in those dark times !

Green Leader, ending transmission.

very cool!! bon travail! J'adore l'idee du "half dark"

Thanks/Merci Kaashifar!

Not so many reactions. 🙄 I may have stunt you all guys ! 🤣 🤣 I admit that pictures are not in my favour. I'll make new ones when all will be finished.

Anyway, it won't stop me !

My job of the last week :

Hahahaha I love the Luke Squadron with Vader in pursuit!! Those squadrons are very creative!

Do you use an airbrush for the windows glow, and paint on the window themselves? I think the effect is really well made!

Yes, it is just a shot of lightning blue with the airbrush on a point made with a needle dipped in the white paint. The blue paint has to be very diluted.

I will try to make a video, one day. Maybe.

at long last you show up here! 😁

those rebels, always sneaking out of view, preparing some mischief in their sociopathic ways 😜

Very well done imo. The lighting on the Mon Cal crusier and the Assault frigates is spectacular.

Not only beautifully executed, but you have managed to do the most original paint scheme in my memory of Armada! The day night side was an absolute stroke of brilliance!

🥰 🥰 🥰

You made my day ! You gained a "social-distance-hug"

I forgot to update the thread last monday. After more than a year basecoated in black, my Profundity recovers its colors ! Rise from the shadows, mighty MC75 !

Then, during this painting session, I promised some friends to show them the way I do .
I post it here, but, please don't judge me about the quality of the video, I am not a youtuber, I only has a phone, and it was the first time I do this. 🤣 (And it was realized without light, as my lamp was used to carry the camera). AAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnd, it is in french sorry. ^^

And finally, today, I finished my last ship. LinoB's MC80 Liberty :

That mini is so gorgeous ! I think it may become my favorite in the fleet !

That's all for my 'quarantine objectives' today. Stay home, and if you have to go out, may the mask be with you !

Mat.

ohhhh une video!!! Merci Mat!! Et comme toujours felicitations sur un projet superbe!!

Awesome paint job, I really like the “light / shadow” effect it brings all those ships to life! I also

like the custom squadrons and the repair crew transport.

I have to say it's the first time I see one of my MC80 fully painted and I must say it looks quite satisfying!

These look great. With you asteroids how did you secure the rocks to the wire. I made mine the same way but the glue doesn’t hold the rocks to the thin bit of wire.

Thanks 🙂

I choose lava rocks that naturally have at least one bigger hole (Sometimes I make it deeper with a handriller. Not an electric one that turns too fast and burns the drill. Sometimes the rock is more friable and you can make it by scratching with a needle)

Then I take the wire and make a little hook, just to prevent him from spinning in the hole. You have to be sure it is not straight, a little "c" shape is enought. I check that it fit entirely in the hole.

Then I mixed green stuff (any putty can work but that's the one I have), I pour some glue, put the putty into, I dip the wire in the glue and I push it in the putty. Then you have few seconds to press the putty with a needle to push it around the wire to block it. You can reproduce the aspect of the rock by making little holes in the putty with the needle.

Then I basecoat everything in black, I you know the rest 🙂 .

I hope I was understandable. I didn't use technic English for a while ^^

Excellent ill give it a try with my next lot

The lit/unlit effect is very cool and very original. I've never seen that done before. Great work with the window effects, too.
