To ease my anguish at not getting new ships until May at the earliest now, I reread the Wave VII announcement article and noticed something interesting. The LAAT and HMP have a reload action but there is no disarm token shown in either picture. Is this hinting at a rules change for reload, or just an incomplete set of tokens in the announcement photo?

It doesnt show shield tokens for the xi shuttle either so I am assuming it is just incomplete.

I'm willing to bet it just started out as constant mistakes from some poor interns and then became "Hey, they don't really care if the images aren't totally correct."

Well, kinda. There are caveats and stipulations, but yes, gunboats can get around a disarm token or two.
