Is Ani/Obi still a thing?

Title. After seeing scum do 2-ship with Fenn+guri or fenn+boba, I was wondering if 2 ace-y deltas still works. Any advice is appreciated.

I wouldn't bother with Sense on Anakin. You can go to gigantic 22 bit to achieve virtually the same effect that costs you no force.

The force you save you can then go on spending on your FTC and skip afterburners, maybe? As of the current state of FAQ those do not combo with Anakin who has to have a valid target for his ability the very moment he finished his manoeuvre in order to shake stress off. Points and slot saved with those you can invest in shield up to add a previous HP to this fortress of points he becomes.

Good points made by Ryfterek, especially in regards to sense v bid. You are in the points range where you might just drop Sense to get a bid so you move last anyways and then it's also protected points on your endgame piece.

I will point out though that even if Afterburners doesn't enable Ani's ability, it is interchangeable activation with 'P17 so I think those two are worth keeping together if you like it. After a red move getting full double repo or boost+lock with force is potent.

I'm a bit torn on R2 or another Astro. R2 is the combo of choice in Jedi lists that I have seen on top tables because it's non-random and allows you to recover from half points loss.

With the current Rules Reference (v1.1.0) on p31 under Abilities and the Ability Queue it outlines that all requirements must be met at the time of the ability trigger. In the case of Anakin that means you must have an enemy in arc/range (requirement) at the time you complete your maneuver (trigger) to add it to the queue; if you resolve any other ability or move to the next step you are past the opportunity to activate Anakin's ability.

It's possible to make it work, but I'd say it's a lot harder than something like Fenn/boba. Anakin's not hyperspace legal anymore, so you're only looking at extended. And there's a lot more to counter it. Plus, they are more fragile. On the plus side, they can both double reposition, which Fenn and boba cannot do.

I think the biggest problem is that list cannot tank damage the same way. Both Fenn and boba can boost there way into range 1, take something off the board, tank some shots, than run away while Boba drops some bombs and shoots out his butt as he gets away. Jedi have way less options in a 2 ship list
