How best to record a Tabletop Simulator game?

By JauntyChapeau, in Star Wars: Armada

The title just about says it all. I'm trying to create content for my local Armada scene, and with COVID-19 putting a damper on our ability to play in person, I've decided to try and record a TTS game. What software is best to record both audio and video? Thanks!

Open broadcasting software

My NVIDIA graphics card came with game recording software, I think it's called GameShadow. I've used it to record videos of me playing Star Citizen mainly. I also used it years ago to record the terrible frame rate and graphic glitches of Arkham Knight on PC. So I'm certain it works for all games, including Tabletop Sim.

Perhaps there's better vid-capture software out there, but if you have a GeForce card, it should be bundled with GameShadow. Although it might be renamed GeForce Experience now -- it's been a while since I used it.

XSplit broadcaster does want you want.

I use OBS for Vassal. I would recommend a second monitor so you can control OBS monitor Twitch/YouTube team without flipping between application. I borrowed the kids TV for this weekends streaming but I have a second monitor on order.

I used the desktop Audio input to pull in the audio from Discord it was the easiest way but I also muted the system sounds and those from chrome. Too many FB messenger post coming through
