So, why aren’t Vital Assets, Iden and Cassian shipping?

By drail14me, in Star Wars: Legion

I’m not real sure I understand why the next wave isn’t shipping. Yeah, I understand COVID-19 and that some stores are closed so they don’t want to ship to them if they’re closed. However, some stores are open and offering ways for customers to pick up stuff. A new release could help some of these struggling stores right now.

Also, you have many people that pre-ordered direct from FFG so those could be shipped direct to customers as well.

Of course there’s the argument that some people would get them and some couldn’t because of closed stores but let’s be real, how often do FFG releases reach everyone at the same time anyway?

They made the comment that new waves will not ship but the warehouse is still open and shipping all existing titles. So, why ship one and not the other?

Maybe the wave just isn’t here yet? Maybe it’s waiting in a dock to clear customs and CDC.

Anyway, not trying to start a COVID thread, just curious what’s really going on with this wave.

I don't know why. But I assume this whole thread is a misdirect. I bet the delay is because of something YOU did, and you're trying to throw us off your scent. Probably you and Dewback Scout. I wouldn't put anything past that guy.

It actually probably is all my fault. I finished painting my last minis the day LJ reported that the wave would be shipping the next week. So now, I have I have all this free time and nothing to paint............except Skull Forge 😁

Probably because it is not fair as distributor send those stuff to just some stores which a high online presence, when the crisis ends, local retailers will have nothing to sale because some big online companies sold almost most of the materials to customers.

You mean kind of like happens with every release?

A few things. Toy distribution is nonessential. Sadly the distributor and really their employees are better off if they lay everyone off, especially if they employ hourly, and just collect unemployment. Some income is better than no income and people can be rehired latter on. Many businesses are doing this. Games stores often buy from distributors on credit the distributor issues. Seriously, would you give credit to a game store right now?

Not sure what is happening with Alliance but here is a news story on Diamond.

Same with the AAT right? Not being distributed? It's still on pre-order on FFG site and when you try to order it the Asmodee site says all shipments are delayed until at least May 1st due to Covid19.

Alliance's warehouses are in states with orders to close non-essential businesses. Alliance is the sole distributor for Asmodee/FFG in the United States. Nothing is going to ship until those states give the all clear.

And that's assuming they got off the dock in China to begin with. I know my big box chain have suppliers (in a different sector) that are stuck with their containers still in China's dock with no eta on when or if they will be shipped (to Australia for those wondering) according to reps.

If that’s true then why did FFG/Asmodee announce that all older titles were still shipping?

Because they have a personal vendetta against you specifically. They were like "Let's announce it, not because we plan to actually release it but a global pandemic has a way of changing plans, but because it will inconvience drail14me SOOOOO much."

I’m so glad you posted. This thread just wouldn’t be a true FFG community thread without it.

Where are those distrubutors (which states) just to know how screwed we are.

I believe this is where they are located. The last update for the upcoming that changed these products to shipping was before many places went into full lock down. It is an inconvenience, but that is all. We will get our plastic in time. People just have to be patient.

I try to ensure we aren't a fake FFG community. Could you image if this board was just a bunch of posed mannequins and wallpaper just posed as a forum?

Asmodee made an announcement that nothing new was coming out after a date in late March. This decision was out of ffgs hands and honestly it's completely understandable the way this pandemic is going. Brick and mortar stores are closed, ware houses and truck may not be working and some states are completely locked down apart from essential services.

Not all stores are closed is the thing. In the US at least, some are doing curbside pickups, or are in areas where they are allowed to stay open as long as they keep the customer limit below 10 people.

But I do understand that the ones that are closed would be missing out, as well as some of the companies in the distribution chain (warehouses, shippers, etc).

Yeah, you would think selling some items is better than selling no items and going out of business. Selling online or via phone orders or drive thru is better than nothing, especially for a small business that relies on cash flow (if FFG goes under then the game is screwed anyway)

And the President just extended the lockdown until April 30. Wonder if that will push them on out more? 😕

But depending upon the state/countries, some stores are not allowed to operate in any capacity.

When that COVID stimulus check hits, people will be BEGGING for a release. 🤣

Buy a gift card at your FLGS if you are lucky enough to not have bills that need that money and they are open at least those sorts of sales.

Otherwise, shop small where you can, the small companies typically have a harder time dealing with this sort of situation than the big, multinationals.

If game stores know how to work the system they will be just fine. They can layoff all their employees (can always hire back later) and they will get full unemployment benefits that covers 100% of what they made. The store can get a loan to pay rent and there are provisions for loan forgivement if the loan is used for things like rent. If a game store is still trying to stay open and do curb side delivery, well, they aren't essential at all, so wth, and there are ways to survive.
