Need some scummy help...

By clanofwolves, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I’ve been only flying FO since 2.0 started, but a good mate says I need to get a bit criminal. I don’t know how these ships really fly (but I know Boba, Fenn and Fangs are quite good -scratch that- VERY good, esp. in the hands of a seasoned pilot). I want to fly pint games only right now, and I was thinking (to get the green off):

Generically Scum

(22) Mining Guild Sentry [Modified TIE/ln Fighter]
Points: 22

(22) Mining Guild Sentry [Modified TIE/ln Fighter]
Points: 22

(41) Zealous Recruit [Fang Fighter]
Points: 41

(41) Zealous Recruit [Fang Fighter]
Points: 41

(62) Bounty Hunter [Firespray-class Patrol Craft]
(0) Jamming Beam
(4) Cad Bane
(5) Proton Bombs
(2) Contraband Cybernetics
(1) Slave I
Points: 74

Total points: 200

What do you gents think? I want to really learn their dials, action bars, ship abilities first, so moving first and ship numbers are best, ‘eh?

Nothing wrong with playing low initiative. I'd ditch Cad Bane and Slave 1, maybe add 0-0-0 instead.

I'd ditch everything on the Bounty Hunter (except Jamming Beam, I guess) and just run Maul. Heck, ditch the Jamming Beam and it's Hyperspace if that matters.

It might be boring, but the Force is just so easy. A plain Maul BH is a very solid ship, able to take any action on it's bar or pull red moves, and always have at least one force handy. Boost for position, Lock when you can do so safely. Leverage that rear arc. The fact that the force is just an easy, automatic thing really allows you to think more about position and the small things.

On the whole, seems like it'd be a really solid, First-Order-y list. That is, just lots of plain good ships without too many complications.

After getting the ships, I realized my first thoughts were impossible without card proxy anyway, and my mild OCD inhibits me from doing such casual play. However, the card selection worked out and it was a fun first piloting against a great opponent. The 2.0 Firespray dial is absolutely sick.

so I ran:

Generically Scum

(22) Mining Guild Sentry [Modified TIE/ln Fighter]
Points: 22

(41) Zealous Recruit [Fang Fighter]

(62) Bounty Hunter [Firespray-class Patrol Craft]
(6) Proximity Mines
(3) Seismic Charges
(3) Andrasta
Points: 74

Total points: 200

...though the bombs never resulted in damage, I saw easily how it created amazing board denial.

Did I mention the Firespray dial was fantastic? Geezers!

I need to get a Maul card, that I understand completely now 😉

Do you have Scyks? Get some Scyks too. Throw everything in there!

I've come to appreciate this approach.

And yeah, Bounty Hunters are great. Get another one.

Maybe I'll grab a Scyk @Cuz05 . I was amazed at those modified TIE/lns, very nice little cheap ships.

Plus they look great. I've really not flown mine enough to comment much beyond the excellence of Seevor.

I like the guild surveyors with intimidation as blockers for 26 points.
