Someone sent me their traffic ticket with the identifying info blacked out. And a piece of 40k advertising for Death Guard.

Someone sent me 21 proofs of purchase for some reason.

No one has actually sent me their name and address on a card or anything, I am copying them from the return addresses on the envelopes, which adds a step to processing.

sorry about that I think we are bad at following directions

yes you Americans are that why you should have had it open to the people north of you that are good at flowing direction šŸ™‚

OK maybe that a stretch.

I/m sure I'm late to this more of commenting for help. I introduced my sone to ep 4 (first star wars anything) this weekend and thankfully he is in love.

Now as I type this he is using my legion stuff as action figures.... I have been out of the star wars action figure game for about 20 years now..... where do I get OT stuff?

I will write a long response in a little while. Just lemme finish my coffee and get settled. It's kinda complicated? Action Figures are getting crazy these days. Their MSRP is usually $12.99 apiece. Wal Mart and Target are about the only chain retailers left to buy them at. Unless you still have a K Mart. Are you in the lower 48 of the US?

Wal Mart has a really cool Jabba's Palace set right now, it's $50, basically it's three arches and makes the Trophy Room, and it comes with Han in Carbonite and Ree Yees. You can also find the skiff there, and if you're lucky there's still a few Lando's and Jawa's and such. It's sorta "between waves" right now.

The Retro Collection just had its 2nd wave too, which is a Wal Mart exclusive. People are hunting these down, and, stocks seem to have been hurt by the virus. They are 6 reissues of 1980 Empire Strikes Back sculpts on old style cards. You can also order wave one (6 different ANH figs) from Dorkside Toys or Entertainment Earth.

Target still has lotsa reissues of the Escape from Death Star boardgame, It comes with a "retro" Tarkin. They made a new Tarkin in the style of the 70's , since we never got a Tarkin back in the day.

So to follow up, @Tirion .

The line doesn't resemble a "complete collection" that sticks around in stores like it in the 80's. They release little waves of 4 to 8 action figures, typically scattered across every single movie, they're usually around for 18 months, and then they're gone.

In the meantime, each new film gets a relatively robust line of figures, again, around for about 18 months maybe, then gone forever. Though notably, there was no 3.75" line for TROS other than the aforementioned little waves of what they call "The Vintage Collection". TVC is new figures, on old 80's style Kenner cards with a big character graphic and the relevant movie logo up top. I've still seen Jawas and Landos in Wal Marts. Combined with the Jabba's Palace set (which comes with 2 people) it's not a bad start I guess.

Also, as @TheHoosh can testify, if you send me a bunch of Paypal, I will send you a bunch of 1990's MOC figures, vehicles, and playsets to use. Send me however much you feel like, along with your address, and I will deduct shipping and see how much you get for that. Mr. Hoosh was on the other side of the continent, so shipping was high. Still I was able to send him 5 figures, a small vehicle, and a small playset for his $30.

That's the other good source of OT figures. The 1990's/early 2000's line. Most comic shops are STILL sitting on stock of these and will probably give you very generous terms if you offer to buy all they have at once. Collectors saved so many carded 90's figures, they're usually cheaper than buying a new figure at Wal Mart today. In many ways, in my opinion, this was the best actual TOY line of them all to date. The figures have weird proportions but kids don't care: they like that they come with more than one weapon, the weapons are a bit oversized so they're harder to lose, the figure's hands aren't as fiddly as the new hyper-articulated figures, etc. Course the 90's line also suffered from "waveitis" instead of having a coherent "Collect all 92" format like the original Kenner line. So far nothing has approached the original line for being something you can grok without doing a bunch of homework!

Edit: The first wave of free figures is shipping. People who made me copy their mailing addy from tiny little and/or barely legible return address's get the worst figures in all of 3.75" Star Wars history! Boom roasted.

thank you so much for all the info. So long story short If i'm looking for OT stuff i'm gonna be hard pressed to get anything, is that correct?

Bend 'Ems. They got Star Wars Bend 'Ems.

@krebeck TECHNICALLY followed the instructions, in about the weirdest way I can think of, so I sent him something so bad it's good.

@ninclouse2000 is from Pennsic Country like me so I sent him an actual mail-away offer figure from like 1997, still in the Hasbro mailer, with my parent's old address on it.

Depends. I mean with the virus, you'd pretty much be ordering online anyways. There's a glut of unopened older figures if you poke around eBay and Amazon and sites like Dorskide or EE. Don't be fooled, they aren't worth what sellers optimistically list them for. Most people who actually value them as collector's items already have all they want. I find them in thrift shops, unopened, for like $2 and grab them as playthings, not collectibles.

Thanks. This was a funny thing to do to forget about current events.

My kids still love the figures and playset as well. Still a really awesome thing you are doing!

P.S.

This offer now expired.

@TauntaunScout heck yes!!! Iā€™m so excited, thank you so much for doing this!

Thanks. I got a cool surprise in the mail today. Stormtroooper Han is pretty cool.

Perhaps I have not been clear. I will accept ANY proofs of purchase, I never said it had to be Legion ones.

I think this in my head anytime someone in a better place complains about some trivial hobby nonsense.
