Ok, I would like to have a Request For Comments (RFC) from the community on this.

I recently had gotten the C-ROC cruiser model and would like to come up with ways in game on converting the C-ROC into a pocket carrier. The idea is to have it be able to carry and support two to four Sheathipede class shuttles on top and a few modified Vulture Droids on the bottom. It's role is to act as an escort and troop transport for convoys.

I figure that a modification that uses the same system that the Ghost has for the Phantoms would be the best way. From that point, I can either remove the storage containers or use them in the build. I am thinking of also bulking up the cruiser for the "bays".

For the bottom, I was thinking of bulking the various points to act as connection points for the Vulture/Hyena droids.

What do you all think?

You could try to grab a cheap Gozanti and use to bottom part of it with the 4 docking tubes (or just glue them to the bottom of the C-ROC).

For the Vultures on the bottom I would just drill normal peg sized holes in a grid pattern and glue in cut off pegs to hang the Vultures from.

I like Singulative's suggestion of using the docking tubes from the imperial Gozanti mounted to the top/sides for "Shuttle docks" of your mini-carrier. I think it's worth noting for thematic purposes that the sheathipede used by the crew of the Ghost has been heavily modified to fit into the Auxiliary (attack) Shuttle docking port. Stock Sheathipede shuttles don't have that docking hardware in the back as they are designed to deploy from hangars on cruisers and PlanetSide. Since CIS troops are droids you could just land the shuttles on the outside and have the droids walk to them without docking at all, in which case I would make a similar suggestion as with the fighters to drill a small hole for the peg to sit in.

I recently started looking at the C-ROC and the Phantom II shuttle for idea. Right off the bat, I can fit one to two shuttles on each side. In addition, it is on the second and fourth cargo slots that a shuttle can fit, with the third cargo slot barely hindering the shuttles. The problem is that only removing the cargo pods would not let the shuttle to be removable as the peg goes right over the C-ROC wing.

The biggest modification would be removing the cargo pods and the "airlocks", then rebuilding the wings and bays to accommodate the shuttles.

As for the Vulture Droids, the docking points would most likely be in front and behind the escape pods. This might be a simple drill and then install a peg, but I doubt it would be.

Ok, I have done quite a bit to the C-ROC. I will post some pictures once I edit and make them smaller.

I first had to take the lower "wing" of the C-ROC off. This unfortunately lead to several pegs breaking as they were not coming loose at all. After that was removing the cargo containers. This was by far the easiest part.

The shuttles as they are can sit in the back and first full openings.

I recently bought some poster tack as a rough idea for my plans. The idea is to get a rough shape for the planned "upgrade".

I’m guessing you are commited to use pegs for attachments and a no for magnets..? (You could do the attachments without any visible holes and the fit is always secure.)

That could work. By my guess, I should use a strip of magnetic tape for the C-ROC and drill out the peg/hole for the Shuttles?

I just snap of/pry the peg off shisp with pliers - it usually comes off very cleanly. Then glue a disk or a ring magnet (if you want the ship to tilt). No need for drilling the ship, the underside ain’t that visible.

For the C-ROC you could use anykind of a magnet or even a piece of any magnetic metal. You can cover the magnet with thin plasticard/polystyrene sheet to make it invisible.

I recommend neodymium magnets.

Just remember to double-check polarities before glueing - I always goof up that... 😅

In a rare coincidence, I happen to be putting magnets in mine this afternoon (during conference calls). They should hopefully be strong enough to both hold some M3As and keep the middle section attached as it is doubling as a battery holder for some LED lights.

It involves a little extra cutting, but doesn't seem too difficult so far. I really appreciate the warning about polarity @Jokkker , I definitely would have screwed that up.
