Best Heroes/Aspects for 2-handed Solo game?

By Phaed, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

I want to start playing a 2-handed Solo game and was curious about the best heroes and aspects to use. I am leaning toward Captain America Protection, and She-Hulk Justice. However, I also haven't played Iron Man or Captain Marvel, and I really like Spider-Man Aggression. I have all expansions and card releases to date. Thanks!

The only aspect combo to avoid is Aggression & Protection as it really struggles with threat.

Leadership & Aggression can also struggle with threat, but you can mitigate that in deck building (or by using Ms Marvel as the aggression deck).

Pretty much all heroes are viable (especially in normal mode), tho heroes do work better with certain aspects.

Most of my plays are "2-handed" solo - I just enjoy the experience of using/playing around with multiple heroes at once.

So anyway, Leadership & Protection seem to work out nicely - the "Med Teams" really help to keep those allies alive and kicking! I've played Capt America/Leadership and She-Hulk/Protection a few times and they seem to compliment each other nicely.

I have had less success with pairing the 1-Thwart heroes (She-Hulk/Thor/Spidey) UNLESS one of them has the Justice aspect. Both heroes with only 1 Thwart and no one having Justice can't keep up with the threat.

Spidey/Justice & Iron Man/Aggression has been effective for me, too. Spidey can handle damage, threat, and kick some butt while Iron Man powers up.

Capt A/Leaderhip and Black Panther/Pro has been successful, too for me.

Wouldn't recommend Iron Man and Black Panther together, though - you need one hero to be able to handle stuff while the other guy gets his tech/weapons out!

Good luck!

I have enjoyed Iron Man aggression solo. There is enough thwart there to keep games interesting. I had been running him leadership and it felt too easy. Running 2 heroes you may consider not running leadership at all for a more specialized feel to each character.

“Conan, what is best in life?”

Thor Aggression and She-Hulk Aggression!!

Smash face! (This of course will become Hulk and either of the above once he’s been released)

So here's an update. I appreciate everyone's advice, and I realized I dont have much deck building experience with MC, so what I did was hit Marvelcdb.com and look at some of the decks. I knew I wanted to play Captain America because I hadn't played him yet, and I was open to another character. I have most experience playing as Black Panther and She-Hulk, so I decided to try something new, and came across a fun sounding Ms. Marvel deck. So I played Ms. Marvel Aggression and Captain America Protection. This combination worked extremely well! Enough thwart that threat wasn't an issue at all, and Ms. Marvel while using Embiggin with Melee really took care of minions and Rhino very easily. Towards the end Captian was down to 2 hit points, but I had his helmet in play and didnt need to use it.

My verdict.. WOW Ms. Marvel is a BLAST to play! I had a lot more fun with her than I expected. Next, I'll have to test them against Klaw and Ultron.

spelling error

One of the biggest reasons I like Ms Marvel Aggression is that she works in situations where aggression doesnt normally work due to her tremendous thwart potential
