X-Wing Vassal module - new website and hands-on guide

By Mu0n729, in X-Wing

Vassal play has boomed over the last few days as people seek normalcy (understandably) in solid ways to play their beloved X-Wing game online without risk.

I've drastically updated these two web resources to help new and old players alike to learn/brush up on the latest features of the last few years!

Website URL: http://xwvassal.info

Old website: module and vassal league one-stop-shop

New website: module one-stop-shop

Guide URL: http://xwvassal.info/guide

Old guide: very outdated and related to the first edition

New guide: very up to date and related to second edition

Praise be to Muon.

He's a helluva lepton and quite the negative fella.

Thanks Mu0n.

Vassal (and especially your X-Wing-Module) is awesome and more important then ever.

I was literally just signing on to see if there was a place I could go to get a tutorial on Vassal and my prayers have been answered.

How do you play against yourself on Vassal. I can switch players and move both sides ships to the board to position them and can even set each sides dials, but I can only move a single side dials’ to the map. When I become the opponent I cannot move ANY asset to the map. It only allows me to move the assets around within the player window, I cannot move assets between the player window & the map. Is this supported? This is on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6, X-wing module 8.8.1. Offline game.

Why would you want to play against yourself?

There are dozens of people online to play against...

What Kettch said. But you can also simply spawn both lists for the same player. No need to switch players at all.
