Tractor droids off of rocks

By BCvalor, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi guys,

I was getting some practice rounds with a Nantex, and I set up some droids to fly against. So I flew my nantex to tractor a droid sitting on a debris cloud, and I was thinking, if I tractor the droid off of its cloud, what will happen to the droid, or is that even something I can do?

thanks for the help!

The droid would have a program maneuver like normal, and execute it like normal, then flip the struts back to closed.

Note that it says "If you reveal .... and are at range 0 of an asteroid or debris "..

As soon as you tractor it off the debris, it no longer meets the criteria of being at range 0 of it, so the rest of that sentence is void, and does not skip its execute maneuver step. It then goes to "after you execute a maneuver, flip this card".

Would it be immune to the damage if the debris? If the barrol role of the tractor beam crosses over the debris?

It would not take damage, no.

The droid "ignores obstacles at range 0 and while [it] moves through them." A barrel roll is a type of move, so it would continue to ignore the obstacle.

Note that the movement by becoming tractored, in contrast to the boost and barrel roll action, does not fail if the ship overlaps an obstacle, RR:

“This move can cause the ship to move through or overlap an obstacle.“

Ok so can they take damage only if they are in flight mode?
