Is it just me, or is it getting increasingly difficult to get hold of the rule supplements? Especially with Edge of the Empire I've really been struggling to find the books, even from the FFG website. Does anyone know of anywhere that has a decent stock?
Getting the Books
It's been discussed pretty thoroughly at the forum and all around other media.
Because of the massive layoffs in the RPG department and the move that Asmodee / FFG were anticipating, most of the printing stopped.
There was already a pretty lousy stock, but after this news, many players and collectors started hoarding the last books, leaving most (if not all) of the shops and distributors without stock.
But speculations are that reprints will be happening again in the future. The SWRPG (and other RPGs) have been transferred to a European company, so it is not completely halted.
My local FLGS had a diff time ordering Ghosts of Dathomir for me back in the Fall of 2019 and December 2019 because the book was out of print. FFG at the time was focusing on RotS and CotR. The moment FFG announced the layoffs of the RPG staff the two EotE core rulebooks and dice that had been sitting on their shelf for nearly a year got snatched up (They ordered the book after our group started, and I felt guilty because non of our players bought the books. I'm glad the were able to move the copies). 🙂
Amazon looks like the best place to get them from, I found most of the books available on there and they are still around retail prices. On EBay all of the prices seem to have jumped since the availability has dwindled.
My local store has had problems getting RPG stuff from FFG, I'm still waiting on the last L5R book that came out. About to just order online, and tell them to take me off the list.

If ordering them now, just put in a note that you plan to use the pages of the book as toilet tissue and they may be shipped to you faster!

Only if you order d20 Star Wars 😁
My career now means I'm in UK lockdown...the weather is fine today so my plan is to read or write stuff for mt homebrew. I really feel for those people who 'have a life' but now means that they will suffer from boredom, mild depression, relationship issues (possible rise in domestic violence).... I am so glad that back at school I was regularly told to 'get a life'due to my music tastes and hobbies but stuck to my guns. Who's laughing now popular people? My guitars are all restrung, new batteries ready for the fx pedals... Nope I won't get bored AT ALL!!!
My wife and I have even made a plan to what to do on some days...The weather is supposed to crap over the weekend so I'll be strumming then. TBH I think gamers in general will be OK... it's the fitness fans with no home weights that will struggle (yes got a set of them as well).. already spoke to some gym buddies and they're dreading it and we are only in day two!

If FFG are outsourcing for freelance writers maybe they'll reprint but on a smaller or slower scale.. I always preordered when the career splat started being released

I'm pretty much set. As a sentient fighter plane of the "not fit for modern military service" variety, I have a lot of experience sitting inside, telepathically communicating with a computer and working on stuff for my campaigns. Sadly, I can't play music. .50 cals aren't very dexterous. I can always listen to music though (I say, as I listen to Sabaton for the umpteenthousandth time)!
As for the OT, I've been sitting tight for a while. I'm allergic to paying full price (which has resulted in getting my collection of 13 books for about 40% off), so my prospects fell dramatically when the news came out about them shuttering their RPG department. I'm really hoping for some reprints, especially of some of the rarer books. Plus, my nearest FLGS is 3 hours away, and while I can't go, my mechanics definitely aren't going to want to (sadly, none of them like this game).
