Noob questions about Boba/Fenn

Hope I’m not clogging the forums with too many questions lately!

What is it that makes the so-called Boba Fenn lists so awesome? I have Slave 1, a Fang, and now an M3-A as well, plus Hotshots. Can I build one of these lists? Can someone post a typical sample list, so I can study it? Thanks!

You may do well contributing back to the threads where you first found that reference of Boba/Fenn. it ups the interaction of people talking about strategy. (next time)

I've actually asked this same question too... though the answers I got were not so specific.

For the betterment of the group knowledge, please evaluate my best Boba Fenn so far.

Boba at range 1 almost always rolls 2 evades, so 2 attack dice are near worthless, and only the highest of 3 dice shots even do damage. (Ive had plenty of modded 4 dice shots do 0 damage also).

Fenn also at range 1 FROM ANY ANGLE (cue anti-thematic rage), is usually rolling 4 dice and getting a free evade, again, making most 2+1 attacks near useless.

Slave 1 and their high initiatives (especially in the artificially curated HS format without some init6 aces) make it easy to arc-dodge.

From above list I would cut adv proton torps from Fenn as he already rolls 5 dice at R1 with primary and the list really wants to out bid other aces.

Would also prefer Fearless over debris gambit and then proximity mines instead of proton bombs in extended.

Boba/Fenn is really tough in Hyperspace format.

Blail's list is an extended version, in HS some of those upgrades are not available and the list wants the biggest bid it can get vs other Boba/Fenn lists so it gets pared down:

Boba with Maul, Hull Upgrade, Slave1, Contraband, and a device. Often lacks a Talent at all.

Fenn with Fearless or Outmanouevre.

In Extended, the list is markedly weaker relative to a few frequently seen things such as Wedge, or Whisper, Darth Vader crew, or multiple ships with Juke. Plus Boba gets replaced by Guri!

Neither ship lives long if they don't have their green dice. So, the counters to them include: Wedge, Outmanouevre, Intimidation, range 2 or 3 Missiles and Torpedoes, having lots of 3 red dice firing arcs shooting outside of Range 1, etc.

However, being better at flying your list than your opponent is the main key to defeating them.

Where does one acquire Contraband Cybernetics? It seems to be one of the few upgrades in this list I haven’t encountered yet.

(I have the 2.0 Core, TIE Advanced x1, TIE Fighter, TIE Striker, T65 X-Wing, Y-Wing, B-Wing, Rebel Falcon, M3-A, Slave 1, Fang, and Fireball expansions, as well as Never Tell Me The Odds, Hotshots, and Fully Loaded. Resistance Conversion Kit & Heroes of the Resistance are being shipped to me as well).

Should be on the way to you. You’ll like it: it’s a one-time use get out of jail free and get your action and positioning you want anyway despite stress.
