2nd C-Roc?

By Freaknut, in X-Wing Epic Play

So given that I tend to supply the minis for my gaming group I purchased 3 of the epic conversion kits as I have one of each of the ships. However, that gave me enough supplies to convert one more epic ship. My question is, how practical would it be for me to get another C-Roc?

I haven't tried epic in 2.0 yet. Would I ever fly 2 C-Rocs in a typical epic game? Would I be better off trading the extra epic base for something else I want?

Thanks in advance for the insight.

I fly double C-ROCs all the time. If you're going fly Scum Epic, do it. It's a good time.

In fact, I fly two of them in casual games occasionally, to the hilarity of my fellows.

Basic build for me is Ion Cannon Battery and Bombardment Specialists. Good stuff.

If you fly two make them rather cheap support ships. The Ion Cannon Battery is perfect for this.

Huge ships are so discounted in 2.0 points that it often makes sense to run more than one in just about any faction. I'd say go for it unless you want to save your money for future huge ship expansions (though if my pulse on the community is right, there isn't a lot of faith in future huge ships among the general X-wing populus).

Thank you for the feedback. I will try and track down a 1.0 C-Roc to convert.

I don't have a lot faith that FFG will do much more with epic either including simply reprint. I've had people offer me $100 for my transport.

Woah. That's tempting. I wouldn't do it because if it is ever reprinted, it will be $100, so you don't gain anything. But wow, I hadn't realized demand was so high for that thing.

I was just pricing out carriers tonight as I have one to sell. The last four sales on eBay that were exposed (meaning not "best offer accepted") were were $133, $109, $125, and $124. Some of those were new, some used. Some included the special TIE Fighters (obviously the new ones did) some did not.

I am in the same boat. I bought 3 conversion kits as I have at least two of each current epic and I like the flexibility to field squads for more than just me. If you're on the fence, C-ROCs are generally cheaper than the others...or at least they were when I last looked.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'm picking up a used one up on Friday (payday) for $40. Just the C-Roc, no base or cardboard
